This has been out for like 2 months, is no one interested in it ? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nissandatascan.ndsi&hl=en
Interesting... I didn't know it existed to be honest. I'll install it tonight and give it a go. I already have a bluetooth adapter permanently connected to my consult port, for ECUtalk on my iPaq. Works great with that so hopefully it will work great with my HTC phone...
There is http://home.exetel.com.au/nds/NDSIA/index.php?content=supportedadaptors The app even points you to track electronics. Apparently the adapter is her new design, to overcome a problem with the expensive Bluetooth component she used in the original BTconsult I will look for the lite version of the app and check if it offers anything more than NikoZ or Blufrog app.
Typo, BlueFRom https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=BlueFRom.Consult same as NikoZ (just lines of text and numbers updating), but you can display in Landscape orientation. I seemed to have a problem with it dropping out (or timing out by design) and could not get it to stay alive. NikoZ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grigon just lines of text and numbers updating, difficult to read, can't enlarge text. The application seems to lock up (for me) if I try to display more than 6+ sensors. Display 5 Sensors and it is OK. These things are OK while we wait for VaderZ
It works great with the assembled BlueTooth adapter of the DataScan website. I got Conzult full version to monitor engine signals and do an active load balance test via BT. I will also try and get Windows DataScan and Nistune to work.
JOHN ... It says that an Adaptor and a USB OTG Cable are required .... Any idea of the cost .... ???? ... I could be interested.
You might have to because this Shopping Cart ConsultBT: Nissan Consult Bluetooth Adapter [Quantity Not Available] Price: $75.00 Product Code: ConsultBT Availability: Out Of Stock
this is the default setup. I would be surprised if it can actually display real time data from that many sensors because it has always locked up when 6+ sensors were displayed using NikoZ or BlueFRom. Works on a Samsung Galaxy S2 with consultBT bluetooth adapter. but the engine isn't running. Not sure what it would be like while driving because Zed has been off the road for a while. The adware is more than the banner it goes full screen every other time I touch the screen to scroll down to check the sensors that are off screen.
Hey Baz, excuse the delay please, I have been eating cake and quaffing ale. First of all the the simple Consult BT adapter on Nissan Data Scan page works very well, the app works also works well. Apart from compatibility issues with the odd phone it can be pretty much guaranteed to do that. I have also hand genuine Conzult working over the Bluetooth connection and did a balance test, controlling individual cylinders via Bluetooth. Fiddled with Nistune for a bit as well as Nissan DataScan I for windows and wasn't able to get them to work yet, the individual software has settings to do this, I didn't spend a lot of time trying to get it to work as I would use a cable for doing this sort of stuff any way. This is where I think the modified BlueTooth/Consult adapter I am using has a benefit over the Track Electronics one (now available). The modified unit has a serial post that a USB adapter cable can be plugged into and be used as a cabled adapter also. Where as with the Track Electronics unit you still need a separate consult cable as well. This leaves two outstanding issues. I haven't tested the adapter with a serial/USB adapter yet, but I expect it will be no problem. And more importantly is that Bluetooth pairing requires a PIN to setup, I am expecting all the Track Electronics units will all be something generic like 1234, I am looking into how to change the PIN for each unit. Otherwise walking around with a laptop on a tech day could be huge amounts of fun. I would expect to do the adapter complete with Bluetooth and USB capability for $75 posted. I can also supply Nissan DataScan I for PC for $49, the Android app comes from the play store of coarse, both will work independently and do not require each other. I would like to do a minimum number of 10. In the mean time I will look into the two mentioned issues above. The potential with small tablets in dash instead of a car PC is the end game of this. NAV, music, media, gauges. But its also nice to able to monitor water temps on a hot day accurately on my phone. Any comments ? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nissandatascan.ndsi
Hi brisz. Not sure if you are a retailer or just a clever dude etc but I'm having a problem connecting bluetooth to my car and wondered if you had any ideas. In short, my phone recognizes the bluetooth but then fails to recognize the car/ ecu and I get the error 'ini failed'. I got this with a Bluetooth adapter I made up but I also get the same issue with the track electronics adapter. I'm either really unlucky and have bought I busted adapter, my phone isn't working or the car/ECU is the problem. I have a nistune ECU (proper daughter board) and I was wondering whether that could be causing the problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
Hi Brisz I am also watching this and keen on what you are doing. I'd be in on a group buy if your running one.
Seems Brisz is doing quite a bit with the combo you need answers on. If using an Android phone, have you used her (TrackElectronics) test program for the bluetooth adapter. I had a problem and used her test program and it produced a file which I sent to her. She paid return postage and fixed it that week. I could also dob in one of the mods who has one  @Vader how rude of me, but you should ask him. Another person who uses bluetooth adapter and has nistune board is SBE, who happens to be selling his car right now, you could try asking him if there were any special hurdles. error 'ini failed' should only happen if the key is only in ACC position.
the Power Steering ON/OFF graphic doesn't change on mine. Always indicates OFF, but my power steering is actually working quite well at the moment. I have posted some photos of how the software appears on a 4.3" Samsung Galaxy S2 phone. Has anyone got a photo of how it appears on a larger Tablet? I wonder if it is just enlarged, or if it shows more data fields.
Thanks for that.. The car was running at the time. Ill try the test program on the play store, saw it yesterday but I wasn't sure what it was... Good idea and thanks for that. Ill update this on what happens
