hey guys what did those of you use as a bung on the extra pipe left open on either side after removing the stock recirc valves? cheers
Please don't do this. This is what I found on my zed when I bought it. They harden and crack over time and will leak.
Had red zed like this for years without issues. For the sake of $1 and they did crack, I'd replace with the same thing again.
its all well and good to say "dont do this" , but if they take your advice, what should they use instead?
Measure the pipe and search online for the correct sized rubber block offs, or alloy blockoffs to go inside the existing rubber or silicon hoses.
agree... If you run std boost you'll most likely be ok until the rubber cup fails through old age..... time frame ??? I don't know , I couldn't keep the bastards on long enough to tell  Bit of spirited driving.... back-off ...... BOV woooosh .... shortly followed by a pop-gun sounding PoP yeah...... NaturalyAsperated sucks :bash: I got a couple of solid rubber bungs from eBay (the type chemists use in their testubes/beakers etc), cost me $6 delivered from memory Stuck em in the freezer for a few days.... Warmed the pipes up with a small butane torch... shoved and belted the bung into the hole and then sprayed water over it .... and just for additional fixing I ran a hoseclamp around the pipe and over the bung.... Hasn't moved in ~3 years.....:br: I wouldn't have gotten 3 weeks out of the chair cups if the bung didn't work...... Tig welding was on the list
Actually I use 2 chair caps currently on the silver zed running 22psi and 500+ hp without issue. Had the whole BOV blow off it's nipple but never the block offs.
had a trolley bar in my last one ill try a few different options and see what suits best, thanks all for the advice
I USED CLARK RUBBER STOOL ENDS FOR YEARS WITH NO ISSUES. Just make sure you buy BLACK ones, They are way more stable. against heat.
I'm surprised how many people support that technique, I always thought it was a ghetto fix. Can probably get silicone ones now which are generaly going to be more stable with petrol/oil fumes and heat.
