Battery problem solved (duh, new remote battery < 7v).

Now, I can't get DataScan to connect with ECU. I bought my DataScan V1.52 and Blazt USB cable and drivers from Cazracing in 2008. All worked fine on Win XP and it did what I wanted. Since then Windows has gone to 7, DataScan has gone to V1.63, can't find updated drivers and weirdly, there is nothing later than about 2009 in this forum on those and related subjects. When I attach the Blazt cable to the computer I get no "new hardware" message. What do I have to update to get all working on Win 7, 64 bit???
    thanks Techies

Try running the software in "XP" mode in windows.

And I didn't know anyone still used DataScan... Conzult/Nistune is what I preferred.

Thanks, but didn't work. Changed to interface cable identified port 35 and just got an invalid port message. Tried a number of other port numbers but no action at all.
I located my old XP laptop, with the original datascan version and Blazt drivers on it (which did work when I first got it). The interface cable properties showed comms through port 9, so I changed to 9, and it connected and picked up the ECU number, but that was as far as it went. Just sat "cycling" with no "activation" of the data display key - how long should it take to activate the data display? I waited a minute or two.
Re Nistune, none of the ads or posts I read indicate use for fault detection, just tuning.
    regards

Nistune reads and clears faults and does everything that DataScan can do. Readouts on TPS, AFM, AAC, O2 etc etc etc.

You can download a demo for free. Well you could last time I looked.

Just typed it into Google and got nissan datascan v2.52 hits.
I stopped there, what website did you download your update from?
Have checked all over for a help doc about using on Win 7
are you using the correct version?

Confirmed from Nissandatascan site that NDS1, v1.63 is the latest version for the 300ZX TT, and that is what I am trying to run, with the Blazt comms cable - confirmed the correct connector for v1.63 and my Zed from site. That site links to the DataScan forum and there are dozens of posts regarding the same problem, with many speculative responses and a few that worked for a few people but no universal fix. Timewise it appears that the problem arose post Win XP. One suggestion that worked for one person was to update the comms driver manually.

Thanks again, will the Blazt cable work with Nistune?

    datascan 64 bit

I did a google search for updated data scan 64 bit early this year.. downloaded the program for both windows 7 and windows 8.1... data scan works perfect on both computers,, windows 7 and 8.... maybe I just got lucky.. first download was for windows7 and then 2 months later downloaded for windows 8...
