Blue slip might argue the point that it's not factory so has to change back.
Good luck and keep us posted.

You might have a hard time at blue slip if they do their jobs properly

I can't believe we are still discussing this on a forum.

There are people who are paid to interpret and apply the relevant legislation, and licensed to make a ruling on modifications such as this. Call them.

What your mate from the forum does or doesn't think isn't going to help you in the slightest...

Because the new hinges could be manufactured out of sunshine and farts and vibrate to pieces at 110 KM p/h, causing the door to fly off and maim a llama or black kid or something.

Should my after market brake caliper set up not require certification because the car came with calipers standard? I think not.

This, doubly so in Canberra because our RTA is run by like six blokes. If you don't have an engineer or inspector willing to sign it off it doesn't matter what you think the ADR means, if your interpretation of the ADRs is different to that of the inspectors you will have to take it to court and get the common law adjusted before your interpretation can be called 'correct'.

I think the real reason for them being illegal is if emergency services need to get you out of the car quickly, the lambo door hinges make their job more difficult.

Sers but, buy my lambo hinges.

Well that a different matter. if a Llama could be injured or killed then Lambo door hinges are out for me. Non reflective citizens on the other hand....we have plenty of them out here :) :D.

Agreed, but what the guys are on about is there are some REALLY shonky cheapo ones on ebay that when the door is open allow the door to move back and forth. The material also stretches and lets the door get out of alignment.

So one day we will see you post pics of your Raptor Kit doors, and will know what they look like.

Has any manufacturer put something like VAN sliding doors on a sportscar?

What about the doors on a BMW, something, that slide down under the floor plan?

    Stupid looking thing.

Cars with scissor/gullwing doors normally have emergency hammers to break out the windscreen in the event of a rollover.

Scissor doors on cars that don't have them from factory are silly and dumb.
