Nissan recommends a 55D23L model battery for the Z32 and the perfect size to fit the Z32's battery tray.

Currently I am using a smaller sized battery in my Z which is a 58EB which is not as tall as the 55D23L buit the right width size for the Z32's battery tray.

Otherwise you can go to any autobarn and or Supercheap Auto and look in the battery catalogs and they will tell you what battery each company recommends for the Z32.

first things first. what do you use the car for?
do you have a big sound system?
    do you track your car?
how often do you drive your car?

all these come into factor with what you want to do.

the recommended battery is assuming you daily your car and it gets a regular charge.

i drive it on weekends only and i would not be averaging more than 100 kilometer a week. i currently do not have big sound but would get one in near future. i do not track my car.

Some people use those "intelligent" trickle chargers (they have a quick release plug that stays connected to your battery) to stop the battery from going flat. Car is ready to go when you are :)

One that fits, is sealed, approx 600cca and 3yr warranty.

If you're in NSW you can always call Nrma they will check your existing battery, supply and fit a new battery (part number 2544) and test your electrical system.

Otherwise go to your local auto store, Yuasa, Atlas, AC Delco all seem to make good batteries. The battery used in a Z is very common -take your old one (or the car) with you to the shop.
