Tas Cruise Time (Again) Sunday Oct. 26

Time for another run.
This time we are proposing a run out to the Gordon Dam out past Strathgordon

Its a brilliant drive with magnificent scenery along the way. Road surface is reasonable and the drive is challenging.
Stop out at the dam for a barby/picnic.
Weather can be a bit sketchy out in the south/west but you never know your luck.

Hobart guys head up through New Norfolk - Bushy Park then turn left at Westerway for Strathgordon via Maydena

North guys head down midlands Highway to Melton Mowbray, across to Bothwell - Hamilton and turn left before Ouse, across the Meadowbank Dam to Westerway. Its a really enjoyable road and reasonably good surface and finally turn right to Strathgordon via Maydena.

Suggest if any north guys want to do the run then we meet up at Westerway for coffee at *blah" o'clock and then head out together to the Gordon Dam for lunchtime.

Suggested times, 10:00 at bridgewater Maccas for the southern guys and 11:00 at Westerway Cafe for the combined group

Could even take a detour out to Scotts Peak dam along the way but thats a gravel road so think about that mebbe.

Havent had a cruise for a while so might be a starter. We are up the North West these days so its a pretty long drive from here.

Is there a bbq out there?

I do have a single burner thingamajig if we need, not overly keen on the 9kg gas bottle floating around in the boot tho.

Or we could sammich it

i was thinking of scoring one of those small butane powered portable cookers from the hardware. Worth peanuts, run forever on a can of gas, compact and lightweight!
itll do the trick!!
