I took this tonight altho it doesn't show the true amount of work.. this thing has been the centre of my life for almost six years... been ups been downs and I've learned a lot during my time here... I'm putting it up for sale again and altho I wish I didn't have to I'm 27 soon and it's time to start myself a family. it's a truly beautiful machine but it's time to sell up and move on. I've learned so much that I can take and apply to the rest of my life from everyone here. a real blessing to have met you all.

Beautiful Z you have there Mclovin - hopefully you get a good price for her, but most importantly that you have an amazing time starting a family. :)

    Starting a family....

does not necessitate selling the Z if you enjoy having it.

That looks like a nice Z.

I too had children growing up while having the Z. You just drive it less (w/ends), buy a small cheap car (which for around 4K nowadays you can have a very nice one - second hand car market has fallen on its arse - pardon the French!) and for weekends away could either take the missus car or yours.

Driving the Z less, it becomes something special and as the children grow up will appreciate it and how different (classic) it is to the rest of the try-hards out there.
The thing to watch out for is, don't make the Z the focus of your life while starting a family. You know, I'll buy coilovers, I'll get a new paint job, I will rebuild the motor for one billion h/pwr. The Z takes a back seat and family is priority.
You only spend money on it if an awesome opportunity comes up or for maintenance. But since it won't be driven as much, it won't happen for aaaaageeeeees. The years will fly and it's value will appreciate - as long as it's in very good condition.

Having a garage or somewhere good to store it over the years will make a big difference. If not, assess the storage situation and perhaps selling it would be a good idea.

    Keyboard warrior signing out.

    Good luck with it all.

I agree with this as well and I too have just become a father to my first child and there is no way in hell that will make me sell my pride and joy as my Z is my daily and I drive it with pride and happiness everyday. But that's just me, Maybe you have a different situation to me, where you need to sell up to get funds to buy a house or maybe buy a new family car etc. I know you will feel sad to see your beautiful Z go but if you could keep it I would tell you to keep it, as there is no better feeling then driving a Z which always turns heads and gives you that I drive a sports car feeling.

Anyways good luck with the your future plans and good luck with your new family life, nothing beats having a newborn that is from your own flesh and blood.

    Nooooo

Far be it from me to tell someone else how to suck eggs.. but mate, always keep something / have something for yourself (based on my experience of two marriages).

I could have sold my Z years ago but its really been a joy to hold on to it and in my recent circumstances, not easy to afford a sports car of any great description without forking out a lot of cash. I know, with a family, there's all of the personal and financial responsibilities that go with it etc.. but these cars are not worth a lot of money (besides the ongoing costs etc) - but worth heaps in love attention, dedication and maybe even some learning along the way.

I have seen other photos of the car - it looks great mate - in my opinion, harder to replace a good one like this at a later stage.

Whatever you do, up to you... but I think there's always options.

    Cheers.

I too dont see the need to sell because you have kids. We have 1 who is now a teen and we have always had two door coupes. 2+2 were made to carry kids just look at the size of the back seats ;-)

Seriously, once bub is around 9 months old and you swing the baby seat around to forward facing, it'll fit in the back seat (depending on what seat you get). It may also fit rear facing with the front seat folded forward.

OK, I'll bite, what do you want for it? Were you still asking 14K or is it a more reasonable amount now? Someone just came around, looked at my Mustang and gave me a fist full of cash so I'm currently carless.

I only just got my zed out of storage this year after it sat unused for around 4 years while we raised our babies. Its only a two seater but my 4 year old son just loves going for drives in it; I pull the wheel arch trim off and use the metal frame under there to anchor his booster seat. Having kids doesn't mean the zed has to go :)
