Yanks are at it again and this thing has just ran some great times Specs from what i know are: Stock NA Motor Holset HX55 Turbo Custom Plenum E85 & Big Fuel System TH400 R230 Rear End (10PSI Launch) 1.6 60ft ended up with 10.3 @ 133MPH (15PSI Launch) 1.4 60ft, backed off up top for 10.2 @ 115MPH Read something about him wanting to try 25PSI as it hooks very well Apparently wants to run low 9's on the stock motor. Any info on his ignition coil setup? I'm gonna push my poor old motor. I think they are stronger than most give them credit for.
The upper plenum looks to be just a log welded to the lower. so basic, so wrong as far as runners go but it works well it seems. very keen to follow.
Maxima coils from what i read. Yeah i have the same thought in my head, there's another black single turbo Z(Stock NA motor again) pushing out 693rwhp at 28PSI with a 4294. I'm really suprised tbh.
21PSI, 10PSI was off the line. But it shows you don't need to spend big to go fast, a bigger parts list doesn't make you go faster, the right parts do.
Said he had coilovers but went back to stock suspension so it could squat and hit 1.5 60's Darn right it is, his first engine was a 450whp single turbo and had a 150shot on it. That engine blew when he put this setup on it, lost 3 cylinders on one bank? Ringlands were destroyed.
very impressive but unsurprising. drag set up with a massive turbo. lol its gonna go well I still dont understand the internet fascination with doing all this stuff on a stock motor. in the trade you could probably do a forged bottom end for the price of his convertor.
Proves the engine isnt as weak as many think and there isn't a specified "power limit" that they can take. Plus its easy to drop another $250 NA motor in IF it blows.
Interesting food for thought regarding big single turbo locations. Cant see the last one working in a RHD car though. Imagine the induction noise and heat with the turbine being so close to you!
