    Hi guys,
Wondering if anyone can help with this
the fan blower unit in my zed doesnt work when you press the auto button on the climate control unit.

i have tested everything and all works fine.
checked fuses and relays and nothing changed
the weird thing is when the weather is cold the blower unit will work until it warms up then wont work.

any suggestions would be helpful thanks

    The easy way ....

....to identify this problem is to use ConZult. :)
The fan can be operated & the fan speeds checked.
The doors can be operated & the temperatures viewed or adjusted.
The air conditioning clutch can also be operated, as well as identifying any logged fault codes.
This will verify whether the system is operating correctly & assist in localising the fault. :)
Unfortunately the FREE version does not have this capability. :(

Have you tried the basics like to see if there is power at the connector with a multimeter when you turn on the climate control pod? There is every chance the fan itself could be cactus.

Karl : about to embark on that as a couple of people off forum reckon it could be a cactus blower motor, a cantus thermo resistor or as simple as the relay behind drivers footwell.

the fan however works momentarily while the car ia cold as soon as it warms up the blower shuts off altogether.

Will update once i get the car apart and test from the blower motor back

FSM has the Climate control diagnostics.

See page HA-118 in the "Heater and Air conditioning" section in the Factory Service Manual (FSM) on the web at this page . Once in diagnostic mode follow the relevant proceedure to find out where the problem is.
