i believe both length and tube diameter are different between na and tt driveshafts. also the tt has a cv on the diff end whereas na has uni.
So if one was to use the NA diff with a TT engine, then what tailshaft would be used if going with stock? Or when people do this do they just go aftermarket one piece tailshafts anyway?
Ahhh so its the diff end that has differences, rather than the gearbox? Only reason I'm asking is another really cheap tailshaft came up for sale (this time its definitely for a zed).
Both ends are different on the auto - NA auto has a smaller rear output than the TT, and the diff end is different as above.... edit - this is only relevant with NA rear - should have read properly.... You can split the driveshaft, and use the front half of the auto TT, and NA rear half. Just make sure it matches your car (2+0 or 2+2). Replace the centre bearing while you are at it as you will need to remove it to change flange. Or just buy a one piece.....:br:
Dimensions Does anybody know what the difference is length wise between a TT & NA, 2seat & 2?2, and yoke size?
Just to confuse things. I thought the output shaft of the gearboxes were only different on the manual models. aka TT manual vs NA manual. The automatic gearbox albeit NA or TT use the same output shaft. The difference for the diff side of the shaft is as mentioned the 4 vs 6 bolt flange pattern. If you need, i have the front half of the drive shaft that suits a NA automatic gearbox spare. The rear half is to suit the 2+2 model. So i can unbolt that if you need.
auto trans difference refer to Concept Z Performance oem drivetrain section near the bottom. The N/A auto transmission lists a different rear oil seal to all other boxes, hope this helps.
Other way round - the Manuals are all the same, but the NA auto is a smaller output shaft than the TT auto. Front halves are the same between 2+0 and 2+2, only the rear length changes.
