I tried to work out the same but he said there's no pistons included.

Regardless:
Gasket kit - $270
Oil/water pump - about the same ^
Timing belt - $45

Far cry from a $1000 kit

 

Try and get some pics up, Alan. It will save a lot of confusion & also show the condition of the parts you have available.
