Thinking of selling this original condition TT

Hi all I have a 2+0 TT completely original including the cassette player, targa covers, mats, cargo blind, service history from new (every ~5,000kms). I think it's a pretty special car as the VIN is 00007, so it's the seventh 2+0 TT produced. So it's 1989 but it wasn't sold until 1992 as shown by the paperwork, I think it was in the showroom for a few years. Since I've had it it's been a pleasure, it rides beautifully, nice and quiet, engine runs well, does 0-100 in about 6 seconds with absolutely no mods. I haven't raced it or anything I just timed that myself, I haven't put many km's on it and the owner in Japan used it very little, it only has 93,000km on it. The interior is close to flawless, upholstery and carpet are immaculate, plastics aren't scratched, everything works, it's like stepping back in time. The door rubbers and trim look like new, it's obvious this car was always under cover. The paint isn't perfect but looks amazingly good for original paint. Literally the only things that aren't original are - the speakers as the old ones were torn, but these were installed without cutting any wires and the original speakers are still stored, - the alarm, also installed with minimum mods and no visible holes drilled.

If I keep it there will be things on the preventative maintenance list, like hoses and sensors etc, but again there is nothing not working now and there are no fault codes.

I thought I would keep this car for a long time, but things have changed and cars are no longer a priority for me. I will be selling a BMW e60 530i in very nice condition also if anyone is interested. I'd be happy to drive either one of these cars interstate, depending on location. I'm posting here first to get an idea of price, then I might try advertising locally, then on carsales. If someone is interested I can do a walk around over the phone and answer any questions, or someone could come up and take a look then either drive it back, truck it back (Ceva quote $1100 to sydney for example), or it would be a good last drive for me to deliver it.

Any thoughts on price or expressions of interest welcome.

Given its clean and its a TT

I think you would get between $4,000 and $6,000 for it.

It's all about supply and demand, hence the variable price.

Hope that's in line with what your thinking and good luck

Worth far more than $6000, I would hold out for $10000, someone who wants an unmolested example will pay up.

Given the low ks which is believable given the its condition, $6k does sound too low. $10k would be reasonable, you could hold out for more but in this market it'll be a long wait. You'll be waiting for a particular buyer too, I could never be happy with a stock zed but at the same time, this one is too nice and original to "mod".

Yeah, 4-6k is a bit of a low ball. Easily a 10k+ vehicle. Someone would appreciate a tidy stock manual TT. Plus its Blaaaaack.

Bit of a gem this one. Very nice vehicle indeed.

Im thinking 10 to 12k. All day .

But if I were you I would store it away for a few years and sell. Its way to nice to sell for anything less.

4 to 6 is a no go zone for this car.
That fact is. There are people out there that look for examples like yours. And will pay good money for them. I would hold on to it for now.

Thanks guys heaps of agreement on $10k. Re. holding on to it; I just don't have a space for it at the moment, I am simplifying. If I had space I would love to, even when I don't drive it for a couple of weeks, it still makes me smile when I see it sitting there, it's such a beautiful thing.

I might post this in for sale section with that price in mind.

Has your service history included the 100k major service? Will be a big determining factor when getting a good price for your car

belts should be changed every 10 years irrespective of mileage.

Ok two months to go on the belt. If anyone wants to make an offer with this in mind feel free. If it doesn't sell I will change the belt and other preventative maintenance items as soon as I get the space to do it.

I will park this next to my Silver Auto TT for 7k.......7 is a lucky number. Needs a few bucks spent on it and I will have to ship it to Perth.

100% behind this post :p There are people who will pay this much for this sort of car. I looked at one a year ago for 17k, nowhere near in this sort of condition. They wouldn't budge on price so I'm lead to believe they sold it for 15+ eventually. There was another immaculate original condition aus-spec which was advertised for ~20k, seems to have sold. Similar kms.
Should pull 12k. Problem is, finding that guy who wants a car like this and will pay the premium. They're out there, I'm one of them! But I'm not currently shopping.

7 k is now were near what this is worth , and it needs nothing to be spent on it , the car is imac , if you need to change the belts, oils, water, etc etc , this should not reflect its price , the car is what it is , and it an imac zed so its price is cheap, for what it is ,

p.s if i had this car it will be somewhere in the 15 to 17 k , not 12
