HIDs work but stock headlights don't

as the title says, my HIDs work perfectly however the stock headlights don't turn on at all. I am stumped. Tried different globes and cleaning connectors of any corrosion but still nothing.

local highway patrol have told me to loose the HIDs

This issue occurred about 6 months ago when both my headlights just randomly died and installing HIDs resolved seeing things at night.

multi meter is hiding, but I am guessing some voltage is getting to the connectors as the HIDs are operating fine. open to any suggestions.

I would say it would be dirty contacts on the headlight relay. I had to replace mine.

just guessing you were referring to the headlight relay (lh and rh) and headlight control relay? I got a spare zed at the moment down here so I will try cleaning contacts and if still not working will swap the relays out.

Agree you are probably experiencing some voltage drop. You could perhaps install an auxiliary relay as a temporary fix? Get power straight from the battery and use your factory harness as the switch.

How do you have HID's AND Stock H/lights?
I have been running HID's in both Hi & Low beam applications(and 100W H/light globes in my Foggies)without ANY issues, This has been for the past three years(to date).

He means HID's work where his stock globes don't.

Could also be the headlight control relay. I think this one switches between high beam $ low beam. Just replace the complete relay. They just plug in so it's not a big job, you just need one to replace it with.

Your not trying to run the stock globes through the hid ballast per chance?

lol no way. corrosion was the cause of this. all working fine now :D
I forgot what stock headlights were all about. Hill driving in the fog just feels 100 times more dangerous now.
