Ok my drivers window is only working intermittently. According to search, the cause is most likely the dry solder joints in the window switch controls. I picked up a spare to fix (spare was not working either). I have taken the spare apart and am not too sure what I am looking at, which solders are stuffed? Should I just re-solder all of them?

Before soldering, using a multimeter set on ohms, check the operation of the switch, it could be working correctly.
There is a bit more to the power window circuitry than a switch, wires & an electric motor.
Circuit diagrams can be found in the Nissan Factory Service Manual.
Look under: Body [Section BF] - Contents - Door - Power Window.

Flip the circuit board out of the black plastic casing. When you look at the bottom of the circuit board where the pins go through you will be looking for a "crack" in the solder joint all the way around the pin. This is what people call a "dry joint". Just resolved them if unsure but make sure you don't bridge any solder joints. (Sorry if you know all this already).

My money's on the power window amplifier.....

intermittent drivers window function is usually caused by this component

look for a crack in the solder - sometimes you can see it sometimes its between the solder and the copper track so the blob of solder lifts off the track other things on old circuit boards is the track lifting off the board itself and having a break in often you may need to operate the switch so that it puts tension on the terminals and see how they are flexing.

    The best

way to fix the window amplifier, is to buy a new one, expensive yes, but works every time. I've de-soldered and re-soldered dry and cracked joints on the window amplifier a few times, in the end it always fails at the most in-opportune moment, like when its pissing down, or you want to park the car when out. Do yourself a favor buy a new one.

Any ideas on where to buy the power window amplifier? So far the only place that is showing up on google is COZ. I'd rather something closer/local if possible?
