Okay. Clipped my exhaust on the driveway reversing out the other day. Has pushed it forward about 2 inch. The exhaust shop says I have busted something on the joint from turbo to exhaust. He will not touch it. Does anyone have pics of the setup here? Is in an engine pull to repair? Is there a quick fix? Is there exhaust shops Toowoomba that will look at this?
Depends what 'something' is. If its a pipe that needs fixing or a new flange welded its a piece of cake, but if its something more serious like a snapped stud on the turbo or similar its an engine out job. If i were you id find out exactly what the problem is first.
Exhaust/turbo studs can be changed with the engine in -damaged studs aren't all that uncommon when changing out oem dumps. It's not a nice job but it can be done.
When it was up on the hoist and I couldn't see the leak, then when the exhaust fella put a hose up to find the leak, I knew it wouldn't be enjoyable. Then when he said "we would fix that here", that just topped the cake. lol
If its passenger side not a huge issue especially with battery out. Drivers side is more difficult but not impossible, i've done it a couple of times, be prepared to remove equipment to access the bolt/nuts. if its the studs/bolts that have broken then hopefully there enough left exposed to get a tool on.
