    Hi

The infill panel third brake light has an electrical female socket that cannot be bypassed due to electrical straps fitted to it.

So I am after the name of the male connector that goes into it so I we can chase one up to wire it in.

This is on post 94 models I believe (that had infill panels)

It is a two pin male connection and the pins are horizontal - havent seen this connector anywhere else on the Z.

Does anyone know the name of this unusual connector?

    thanks

the normal 3rd brake light wiring loom that went into your series 1 spoiler should fit the infill brake light.

no that doesnt fit - see these pics

    Hi

No - it doesnt - its completely different sorry

    here are the pics

here is an overall view of the infill - the connector is highlighted with the red box - you can see the connector straps that prevent it from being wired in.

Looking at the photos i believe it would be possible to strip the plug off the little bit of wire/terminals and solder then heat shrink new cable to make it long enough to put a universal plug on it. Someone with basic soldering skills should be able to do it quite easily.

    prefer name of plug ideally

    Hi dave

Whilst its difficult but possible - doing that wouldnt really make it a stable solid connection base as there would be loose hanging parts such as the plug itself - hence really prefer the name of the plug if anyone knows - that way I can get a professional job done without worrying about modding it.

It must be out there somewhere

That plug is the same as the one that is in the hatch that goes to the third brake light on a stock s1 spoiler.

No. Either your pins are bent or someone has put on a different plug on the car side for some dumbass reason. From factory they are the same plug for the infill or the wing tbl.
