Hey guys, just wondering if there is any difference between the 2 seater jap spec and the 2 seater aus spec infill/3rd brake light panels?

I bought my jap spec 300 a couple months ago and it didnt have a infill panel with it. I recently called up my local Nissan dealer and they said they could get an infill panel in for a decent price but it specifies that it is for an Aus spec model.. Is there any difference?
I cant seem to find any threads about it on here nor can i find anything on google!!

Any help will be greatly appreciated, i hate having an incomplete car :(

    Cheers, Tom.

    Moo Shocking...

    Post the part number
I didn't think there was a difference... The boot lids are the same.

Get the part number, compare it to another site online... If it's the same part number, your question is answered :p

the Jap Spec might say "Fairlady" as opposed to "300zx" on the Aus Spec??

    Just a thought

Thanks i might just do that, its a better idea than any of mine :p

I hope the "fairlady" and "300zx" is the only difference, that would be good! :D

Really? Well would the 2+2 Aus spec infill panel fit to a 2+0 jap spec?

Yeah it should, I put a 2+0 infil on a 2+2 (jap spec) and it fits perfectly.

That's pretty good. What state are you in?

Any chance you could pm me the details. Might give them a call. Someone should organise a group buy through them see if we can get em for $150 :D

I picked mine up for $220 through a small GB in Perth, so you're doing well at 220 :)
    Unless it was 120... I can't remember.

Im in SA. I just called my closest Nissan dealer, you would expect that every dealer would be able to order in the same price? Maybe give them a call and see what price they tell you? :D

I called them a while ago though. Im waiting for some extra cash and then ill ring up again and double check.

Just wish they were cheaper haha.

The "fairlady" or "300zx" is a sticker which doesnt come with the infill panel but can be bought seperately. When i got my infill panel through a GB a few years back, i was told that the infill panels were all the same & there were no differences between the 2+0 & 2+2 even though the hatches are different in size. However if do remember correctly, brisz posted a while back saying that there was more than one part number for the infill panel but wasnt sure what the difference was

Dont some infills come without the 3rd brakelight and would that account for the different part numbers.

As far as I know all OEM infill panels have the third brake light. OEM wise, the third brake light only appears on the series one wing and the infill panel.

I know you can get an infill without all the bulbs and things from coz as a 'lens only' and stick all the bulbs out of an old one in it. Maybe that's the different part number?

I too got one of those infill (TBL) panels off that GB years ago. It even successfully survived the trip from Aus to Canada.
I installed it on my Jap spec 2+2 which originally had the series 1 TT rear spoiler. The TT spoiler was removed as part of my respray process.
The Infill panel just dropped right in and the existing bulbs / third brake light (TBL) subharness plugged right in directly. The only other thing I needed (and had to order separately back here) was the rear lid trim that goes around the bottom of the Infill panel. I guess because the original TT spolier had it built into it.
The infill panel does not come from Nissan with any decals or markings on it. Those have to be ordered separately and can be had from Nissan of course or through Z1 or CZP.
The funny part about installing it was that after the respray was done, the paint shop broke my new (never installed) Infill panel because they are so fragile to install. They had to order a new one through Nissan Canada which cost him almost twice what I paid at the GB price.
So it seems it doesn't really matter between 2+0 or 2+2 nor whether it's Aus, Jap, or USDM in origin. They seem to be all the same in the end.

    Correct - lens only.
Bulbs and subharness from previous TBL (NA or TT) will work with it.
