The ram raid occurred about 5am when a cream-coloured Holden Commodore station wagon smashed through the front of a hobby shop on South Street. The station wagon had Queensland registration plates and was stolen from Coode Street in South Perth earlier in the night. Two or three offenders then entered the store and stole seven expensive remote-control cars and several remote control helicopters. Police believe the gang specifically targeted these items because they did not approach the cash register. They were all wearing blue hooded jackets and blue beanie-style hats. They left the area in a red Nissan 300ZX, which was stolen from the Murdoch train station car park between 9am and 5:30pm yesterday. Numerous cars were seen driving along South Street at the time of the ram raid. Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident or saw either of the vehicles during the evening. One of the Brisbane TV stations used a montage of cctv ram raid footage earlier this year. It was very surprising to see the Zed tail lights reversing into the shop front. Your comment about not being able to carry much in a Zed, lol. I took the Zed grocery shopping the other day, had a full shopping trolley before l remembered I drove the Zed. :rofl:
