I was just driving along when I thought I heard a really weird noise. Once I got home I opened the bonnet and there was coolant all over my engine bay, and I have no idea where it came from. It looks like one of the lines that go from the radiator deep into the engine has exploded. If anyone in Canberra has any free time either tonight or anytime soon that can come help me out, it would be really good as I really don't know what I'm doing.

Hopefully someone there can help you, until then you could put some pictures up and see what people can see. Might give you a direction to work in at least.

With further inspection and alot of me feeling like an idiot, I'm pretty sure it's actually oil not coolant, which isn't good at all..

If you think it's oil, check oil levels!
If you can provide a bit more detail, others may be in a better position to offer suggestions.

Checked oil levels and it seems fine. I'm just in the process of getting some photos up. Sorry I just have pretty much no idea what's happened at all.

Took it apart and figured out the water pump gaskets gone. Feeling like an idiot again haha but at least it's not oil.

Not a fun job to change those if your not used to the car mate, still no reason not to give it a go

Ran into another problem, we couldn't figure out a way to take the crank pulley off! its an automatic. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DON'T hit it with a hammer or try & lever it off!
You require a puller, could be available at an auto store like Repco or Super Cheap etc.

I know but the problem is as it's an automatic, trying to undo the crank pulley just turns the engine over, and I can't put it into gear to stop it. I have a puller but I just can't undo the damn 27mm bolt holding the crank pulley on.

I'm not in any particular rush, although it is my daily.
It would be really good to get it fixed before Tuesday, as I've got to get to Woden from Ainslie somehow very early in the morning, but as I said it's not the end of the world.

Did not work at all... even though it was entertaining

Remove the starter motor then use a large flat screwdriver in the teeth of the ring-gear to stop the crank turning while you undo the crank nut.

    Hahah wtf you doin!? Lol

    thats made my day.

Why not use the stater motor with the fuel pump fuse out the loosen the bolt?

Get a breaker bar on the ground and put a socket over the bolt. Click the starter once and you should be right.

Be careful, but it works very well indeed!

I tried that a couple of times, but without taking the fuse out. I don't think we were doing it properly though as we rested the power bar on the air con bracket instead of something properly solid.
