So i had a greddy profec b spec 2 set up last year. Ran perfectly, excellent boost set at 15psi. Then one day my car wouldn't boost past 7psi (safety boost level). I thought it was a leak and checked everything to no avail. Last resort was to buy a $15 eBay boost tee to rule out the controller. I removed the solenoid, but kept the profec unit setup in car reading boost levels. The little eBay sucker worked! That was 6 months ago. Now I'm a bit sick of having this temperemental junkie eBay controller in that pulls a ghetto spike whenever it feels like it, and coughs and spits all over the place when I put my foot down. For $15 its great, but its a lucky dip every time you accelerate. Time to sort out the profec and get it back on track. Any ideas what could cause safety boost problems with the ebc? Tomorrow I will check power wire gets 12v, earth is earthed, no hose leaks from solenoid to unit. Is it likely to be a solenoid issue or the head unit electrics?
First step: Read the owners manual, then recheck the installation & setup. It's possible the unit itself could be defective, but you need to verify installation & setup are correct.
Attilla, you're welcome to come by and grab my profec solenoid to troubleshoot. it's just sitting on my shelf, you can hang on to it 'til you find a replacement if it's the issue.
