well i don't have the replacement engine yet, but once i get it, i'll get a bunch of people from here to help me out and swap it over, i was hoping to get it all done by the end of this month or early next month, because i now have to get roadworthy and rego, but i'll just leave that for later, first i'm more concerned about getting my zed to turn on and drive normally! :)

Remember to do the Plenum Pull before you put the new one in too. 100 times easier when it's out of the car.

Remember to check that the new NA engine is in good condition before you do the swap. Compression test it :)

I'm willing to come down and help depending on the dates and work availability, due to night shift it will probably be around midday that I can come around, and take this from someone who just did a swap (albeit a little bit different/more annoying), do your research as much as you can to the date, order every part you can think of that might need replacing, I would recommend replacing many of the electrical connectors or even the loom while the engine is out, degreasing and cleaning the bay while you can, doing little bits of service to stuff like the gearbox (throwout bearing and clutch fork etc, maybe also slave cylinder)

That's a veeery small list, but yeah, it isn't impossible to get done over a weekend, as long as you are prepared, missing one small part can set you back a long time if you don't have backups.

Also maybe consider making sure the engine is serviced before putting it in, mine had a 100k service done but looked like shit on the outside, but it runs fine (minus electrical problems), I've got spare head gaskets if you want to do that while the engine is out.

ahhh thank you so much, it means heaps that everyone's actually willing to help me out! (':
well when i go to get the car with the engine, i'll make sure that i do a compression test, it's from an auto zed, so hopefully it wont need much to swap it in to my manual gearbox, i'm clueless with everything ahahaha! :(

Engine pull is easy if you have the tools. Pulled my first engine with the help of two mates with no previous experience in about 4-5 hours.
