Hi, my '90 Jspec has the electronic climate control but the fan only has two speeds, "little puffs" & " blow your head off". Has anyone found a good way to add intermediate speeds?

I just use the auto function, it works very well. I leave it set at 25, and it varies the fan speed from max when it's really hot, lowering it in steps to low when the temp is reached. If you really wanted to change it manually you could upgrade the ac components to series 2, but I would never use the manual control - I've had 7 other cars with climate and the zed system is pretty good.

If its not working like that, there are heaps of sensors to check. They can all be checked in diagnostic mode. Mine were all ok but the aspirator fan near the interior light had seized, which meant it always thought the cabin was hotter than it was and didn't slow the fan down. I cleaned this as per the tech article and it's working perfectly.

I think I've been in 1 zed ever that had the aircon work properly :p

S2 climate controls work well, especially if you are like me and don't have a gassed up air con. Lets you get some air moving without the blow your head off speeds. Also lets you tell it where to shoot the air, nice in winter when you don't just want hot feet :p

Thanks guys. I guess Nissan realised the weakness in the S1 system and upgraded it for later models. I'll try fiddling with the aspirator fan though. I'm pretty sure mine's not working so maybe that's the issue. Thanks again

You can check the air conditioning system functions with ConZult.
