Has anyone done some different to the standard fog lamps. I have my front bar off for repairs and was looking for new ideas to improve the general lighting. Thanks!
You'll only really fit ausspec lights, jspec fogs, air ducts or a spray tinted version of the lights, different globes like yellow or led cree lights, hid etc. Pretty specific shape and not much else would fit.
As the name implies, these are Fog Lights and as such they DO NOT have reflectors to provide a Driving Light styled beam. You can successfully modify a pair of 55w H/Light globes and install them(but this will only give a non-directional increase in brightness, not a long-range improvement). I have done this to mine and am happy with the moderate improvement(however, they are rendered useless in foggy conditions as they give a "bounce-back" flare).:zlove:
It was a cheap mod and l got what l paid for  I wanted to improve the spread of light on the corners. It has given something but not as much as l hoped. There are a few hi intensity LED driving light options for zed sized fog light dimensions. Use ebay.com Then use ebay.com.au The products are from China.
Well I had been contemplating Narva. http://www.narva.com.au/products/browse/driving-fog-lamps They have several types that should fit. The ones I am looking at are slightly shorter than OE. This would be my third set now! I've actually only broken one light myself. Hella have some rectangular as well. http://hella.com.au/container.html Most of them are on the larger side but I think they have one which is slightly smaller. Of course none of them are to OEM spec in terms of dimensional "oblongularity" or "unrectangularity". :stupid::stupid::stupid: Regards
years ago i sourced a square pair of spot light off ebay or such that was the same size as the stock foglight... worked great for night driving etc.. flick on the fog switch and the road lights up like daylight... great for pissing cars off that cut you off or are just faster than you lol... Dunno about other states but we dont really have fog in WA but we do have open roads and kangaroo's... i found it a much better upgrade
Those are the same lenses I have in mine, I've tried so many bulb options in this area but I am now very happy with what I have now got, please check out this youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqN7Udy4rFQ&list=UU4hbYaRFW2Ilfm82uYa9n3A&index=4 Also I have fit HID's in the front fogs and I think the light they give off is amazing and wouldn't hesitate in recommending, not just a matter of swapping a bulb but well worth the extra effort .
I got funky and butchered stock thingos and added small projector foglamps with 4300 HID's. Looks mighty strange at first and irritates the Zed "purists"!. I dont give a toss. You get used to it. The improvement over the stock anaemic glowworms is significant for the small outlay and time/effort. Excellent addition to ordinary headlights especially when i live in the sticks and dodging wildlife is considered an artform. E
Great info and ideas. I have a non stock front bar, which is currently off for repairs. I could modify the box (at back) that the fog lights sit in, but not the front opening rectangle. Let you know how I go PS: I live in QLD so fog is not something we get much off. Though salt foam in abundance. Check this video at Alexandra Headlands, Sunshine Coast. Suprise! at 20secs http://youtu.be/76zo-rHdYKg
These look like the correct height. Autobahn mid year sale (now) Thought someone who needs this might check it next to their oem, for other members who need to put / replace something in that hole.
Those ultima225 lamps on the narva site wont work lol. The "225" means 225mm diameter which if i recall is ever so slightly too large to fit the fog light duct
