Hey all, Finally received the Z from overseas before Australia Day and registered last Friday, i need to get a service on it for piece of mind soon even though all seems very good. Can any one point out some one in the South Eastern Suburbs (Frankston area) that i familiar with the 300ZX TT, want someone trustworthy also. Any suggestions?
Contact Tektrader (Graham), he is in Berwick so not sure how far he is from you but if he is far, then definitely worth the drive. He is very knowledgable & is very fun to be around especially when he starts swearing at the zed lol Best thing for you to do would be to get the parts for the service & get him to do the labour. You can source the parts from Coz (www.conceptzperformance.com) & i would suggest getting a 100k/200k service depending on how many kms your zed has done. Plus the usual oils & filters which you can get from your local autobarn/supercrap Hope that helps Abraham
Welcome to the Zed world and this fine Forum ..... BUT ... it is COMPULSORY to give us heaps of pics of your new beasty ... please.
Personal Import, smaller window of dates maybe? for a 2+2 these days its from Oct 96 - Dec 97 i think from memory.
bewick is a fair drive from frankston abe, but \he would be one of the closest , other than doing it yourself.
Yeah, pics, uhh, there's some i my garage if you want a look, cant work out the whole uploading of pictures thing on this site, but overall very happy with the car, in excellent condition with some nice mods and low Ks
Berwick shouldn't be too far, its not something that'll come around too often, just the initial service and 100K service. i'l be okay for the %k or quaterly service though i beleive. Thanks Abz
Not a problem at all. I would suggest getting the 200k service kit from coz instead of the 100k kit as the extra parts are worth replacing as you want to do it right the first time & no harm in doing preventative maintenance. Also a plenum pull & possible deletes should be done aswell. I'm not sure if the 97 models came with the s2 ptu but if it didnt maybe think of investing in one. If you cant get a hold of Graham by next week let me know & ill get him to contact you. Abraham
Thanks Frysie, just as impressed when it turned up, got rid f the big red bride seat and back to stock. got a nice rumble to it, and a bit quicker than i thought it might be. now i gotta save some coin, get a dyno and proper service for piece of mind.
Probably a good idea, gotta save some coin for now, will be first thing on the agenda, but thought i should fond out and make contact with someone. Cheers, might be a good idea to use the 200K kit on it too, although the car seems very well looked after, i almost think it has had the timing belt done already? looks pretty new.
I wouldnt risk it especially with the timing belt. Ive owned the zed for 4yrs & ive changed the timing belt 3 times i know its not necessary at all but everytime i get work done that has access to the belt i get it changed & everything checked just to be on the safe side Also if your doing an order with Coz, maybe see if you want to get any other bits as shipping can add up. Or you can see if anybody else is doing an order & share the shipping costs with them. Abraham
