A suggested method could be to surface ship to Florida US, seeing as Florida is the international mail distribution point in the US, and then air to Australia.

We have contacts there. Shipping a skid to the southern USA and Australia are almost the same rate though from Canada. We really do get hosed for shipping. Air shipping a skid from Canada to Australia is almost $2000.00 - yikes! Still very cheap compared to individually shipping everything on the skid we just sent which would be thousands. Just a coil over kit which has to be sent by courior (air) costs over $600 CDN.

As mentioned for those wanting cheaper air freight for individual AMS items CZP seems to have the best shipping rates and we can also ship him non stocking AMS parts to ship to Aussie clients as we have done in the past.

No, I don't think it was mentioned in this entire thread, not up to AMS to tell us of our import obligations anyway.

The importation is still applicable on smaller packages too. Both AMS and the distributor are aware of this and no surprises to the client. I assure you air shipping individually the items on this skid would of cost thousands for freight alone. If really curious we can forward you the dimensions of each box and you can input the dimensions on Canada posts site (www.canadapost.ca) and see for yourself. Nothing to hide regarding the rates people are charged to air ship. Most know shipping from Canada is very expensive especially for air.

The option I illustrated for those wanting cheaper freight is to order AMS products through CZP to save on shipping since the US offers more subsidized rates.

Smaller packages...

...often do not attract duty and GST even if they are over the $1,000 threshold. If they are under $1,000 they are exempt.

Even if items on your skid are under $1,000 to individual customers, as it's in one lot the entire shipment will be taxed regardless.

Just like Canada, Western Australia is at least double the cost of domestic freight to those on the east coast.

Not raining on your parade, just saying expect at least 20% on top for tax. :zlove:

To be clear as a customer on the clear timing covers and the AMS products leaving on the skid. There was no mention on tax or duty for the products I've ordered or domestic freight on the timing cover gb.

As vessel is already sailed on Nov 03rd, 2012 and expected time of arrival is Nov 12, 2012.
but not sure how lon it will take before it clears customs.
