I took my car through the SA compliance check last week and surprise surprise, they failed it on some minor matters ... 1st was the lack of infant seat mounting brackets/holes in the back (like who would ride about with one? ;)) and the other is the TYRE STICKER inside the drivers door cannot be read thus I need a new geninue one, any ideas guys??

John has covered your tyre placard, try PM member Jedi-77 (Mark) about the baby seat. He's the only person i know who uses one in a zed.

    Good luck!

    What:confused:
Our Z doesn't have them. I would have thought you would only need ADR aproved mounts if you did fit a baby seat

this is crazy, a mate of mine has a 1 yr old ford ranger dual cab, it has no baby seat anchor points either. but I suppose being an aussie release it is ok.

I've never noticed any in mine either. Although mine isn't a 2+2 only a 2 seater maybe they are exempt

I wouldn't worry as its the only sort of thing they pick up on when you bring a car into the country and have to have it checked over to meet state requirements and it's a rreally easy way to make more $$$.. $257 for the check and cause it failed another $100+ to re-check. :W:'rs..

Your not makiing my day any better mate :(, I might go with Dean's idea and try Mark to see what he did. The local Zed mechanic seemed to think there were some anchor points in the back but I've laid fatmat throughout that doesn't help!

ive seen this done before..... (not in a zed)

get a baby seat anchor from local werakers
drill a hole out where you want the bolt to go. make sure you will not drill into anything else
weld down a nut in the correct thread

turn the bolt with the baby anchor into it.

ive seen a few cars do this and they always get away as they dont ask who did it and is it ADR approved.

    and once again....

Cant see how the baby seat thing would be a problem, considering no Zed has them factory - any that do have been custom jobs later on. In fact Ive never even HEARD of this being a requirement for anything.

Thats crap. Ive sent mine through regency without issue (accept for them wanting the vin to be stamped and not pop riveted on - which wasnt an issue in victoria). Seems rather pathetic if thats all they're concerned about - considering numerous other vehicles dont have them fitted. Tire placard. Well yeah ok, just get one from above mentioned member.

Ive also had another 1 checked via the local police shop. Which never drew and problems. Even though one of them the reverse lights were a toggle switch as the gearbox switch pooped itself a few days prior. lol.

Use one of the targa hold down strap hooks as the baby seat mount. Or perhaps tell them you're sterile and you have zero chance of ever putting a baby in the back.

Either way, be good to see you on the street some day.

As soon as the car gets back, I'll get a picture. It's a bolt hole, so don't expect anything too exciting.

Just had a look in JDM FAST and there is a hole plug that goes in there for Jap cars.

Mine may of been done as part of compliance along with door intrusion bars and B pillar mounted seatbelts.
