Class1 Bluetooth Serial Adapter Com Port SPP pofile with AT Command

It this Com Port Bluetooth Serial adapter will better price.Bluetooth wireless serial port adaptor, is the best solution for RS232 cable replacement. Its host interface is a RS232 port can be connected to the standard RS232 interface of data communication equipments and hence enable the equipments to exchange data via Bluetooth wireless technology. That is, the adaptor eliminates the need of conventional RS232 serial cable between the data communication equipments with superior freedom of movement and providing the coverage up to 100 meters. As implemented with standard Bluetooth SPP profile, it can communicate with another Bluetooth serial adaptor or other Bluetooth-enabled devices such as a laptop computer, PDA or mobile phone.
The host computer can configure the BTD430 or control the communication by AT command set via RS232 port. No need for host computer to know anything about Bluetooth profile stack.
The adaptor can be powered by Pin 9 of the D SUB 9-pin connector or a USB cable

I'm curious if this will work with an Andriod phone?
Specifially, I'm looking to see if there's been any movement afoot for an Android App where it would use a bluetooth signal from some sort of a bluetooth dongle connected to a serial (RS232) consult cable. The consult cable I currently use does have the powered (pin 9) part of the RS232 connector.
While I have experienced (and continue to do so) great success with my current PPC/PDA serial connection to my consult cable, I'm looking at perhaps using my Galaxy S2 as the means of displaying ECUTalk information via it's bluetooth capability. But that would mean having an ECUTalk App for androids in place ahead of time, correct? If this is necessary, has anyone heard of any development in the area of an android app for ECUTalk?

theres only been nikoz for android but its basic and i dont think has had any more development other than the initial development. no time to look into ecutalk for android in the short/medium term.

Thanks for that. I kind of figured as much but thought there might be something out there I may have missed.
I tried to contact Niko quite some time ago but got no replies after a few tries and gave up on that route.
I'm not a computer (or phone) geek by any stretch of the definition but I routinely see some industrious young people who can easily conjour up some amazing things on their own. I wasn't sure how complex the ECUTalk program is and was thinking there might have been an outside chance that someone has made an android version of it where all it required was a bluetooth feed from the dataport. Wishfull thinking I guess.

Its all just a matter of programming for it, not so much the interface type.

Find a programmer willing and your in business
