a simple phonecall to his insurance provide and giving them the details of an "unlisted driver" for the reasons of a test drive prior to purchase will see a big 'OK' from the company ...... they may want you to specify a day/time of said test.

most people DONT have their MECHANIC listed a a "driver" of their insured car.
    ;)
but I'll bet the 'seller' lets him drive it

Think you are all missing the point. THE CAR ISNT REGISTERED.

So if he goes out and runs over someone in the car. There is no third party insurance and you could get done for driving an unregistered car.

Can it even be comp insured without rego? I dont know. But of the driver wrecks it on a test drive he can walk away with just a "Sorry".

    Sticky situation.

I suggest you look a the car. If you are happy with it. Stump up the $40 for temp reg at VICROADS then drive it to make sure its what you want.

If you buy it. I am sure Russell would deduct the $40 from the final price so it would end up costing nothing.

BTW If its Russells car, It runs just fine AND THE ENGINE is perfect. This is zed4lifes car from Queesnsland.

The body is a bit rough in a few spots but apart from that, nothing major wrong with it. Only issue is it idles a bit fast. Russell asked me to go over and reset the TPS and idle bleed screw. But I havent had time. Apart from that at the price he is asking for it, its good value.

The car IS fully comprehensively insured with Shannon's & yes anyone who drives it will be insured BUT I thought L platers would not be legally allowed to drive a turbo car in Vic & so my insurance would be void if anything happened? Seems I was mistaken

    BUT

with my insurance anyone under 25 means the excess is about $1500 from memory? Who's going to cover that should something happen on the test drive?

Sorry just not worth the risk!
Plus all the people who seem to have a LOT to say about this decision......I bet they would NOT allow an L plate driver to take their Z on a test drive!:mad::mad:

Anyway as I've clearly said his Dad is more than welcome to drive it but an UVP needs to be arranged with Vicroads.......costs about $30 for a day, maybe a bit less?.......but the car is being sold with no rego or roadworthy as clearly stated in the for sale thread!

I don't have anything to hide! :zlove:

Geez I paid over $13000 for this Z not that long ago!......people want EVERYTHING for nothing these days! :(

Think you will find, if its not registered or has an unregistered vehicle permit, there wont be insurance cover anyway. Could be wrong but seems likely the case.

Why does an L plater need a Twin Turbo 300ZX? doesn't realise he won't be able to drive it once he gets his P's?? if he even makes it that far.
