Faltum, you should be able to test drive it anyways. L platers can drive whatever they want under someone who's holding a full licence.

Damp seat belts. If they are wet the roof/pillars are rusted out and leaking. Write off.

I don't know about you but if I was selling a car I wouldn't let an L plater test drive it.

Also the drain points in the sill in front of the rear wheel can rust out to if the port blocks up, worth checking out aswell.

Not all L platers are idiots or shit drivers and you were once one back in the day

I agree with Ryan, didn't think before writing what I did.

Inexperience in your case could cost you the car. You wouldn't be used to the power and could end badly.

Yeah true, but now I'm not. Now I have something that an L plater doesn't have which is years of experience (though not many compared to some).

I used to think that too back when I was an L plater. But even if you are god's gift to driving or have been fortunate enough to practice on a farm the other 99% out there ARE inexperienced no matter what anyone says.

Imho 16 is too young to start driving on the road. But that's another argument for another day.

Most insurance companies will cover other drivers if the owner of the car is in the car. I would never buy a car from someone that doesn't allow test drives. I always have a little lol to myself whenever I see someone saying 'no test drives' in their ads

faltum you should find a nice NA, there are plenty around, they are not as slow as you probably think and you will have plenty of legal fun for the 3 years you are on your P's.

and when the time comes if you feel ready for the extra power, you can upgrade to a TT

I understand the no test drives bit if the car is high powered (300+rwkw), most jackasses can't handle that sort of grunt and would end up in a tree. Hell there are people i know that can't handle NA's from how bad they drive.

    Is this you Liam?
If it is please be clear & explain to everyone why I have requested you cannot test drive my Z! As an L plater i'm pretty sure it is illegal for you to drive a turbo car in Vic!......even if you are under the supervision of a driver with a full licence?

In the case that you 'may' end up causing any damage to my car on a test drive then my insurance will be void & I'm not prepared to risk that! Sorry

As stated in the for sale ad the car is unregistered which also means it cannot be test driven on public roads! As I explained if you provide an Unregistered Vehilce Permit then your Dad is more than welcome to test drive the car!

    I'm sure you understand?

Russ when on L's, you can drive basically anything...even Bugatti Veyron :p so the power output or cylinders doesnt matter...stupid rule in my opinion...but thats how it is is in VIC. I wouldnt let a L plater drive the zed either as they are inexperienced...especially with the condition of your zed, i would be very careful as i wouldnt want it to get damaged.

    Thanks Abe

I thought my inusrance policy would be void if something happened to the car with an L plater at the wheel? But as you say even if it is covered I'm still not comfortable with the idea of an 'inexperienced' driver taking it for a spin on public roads!

Last time I drove it the back end skipped out changing from 3rd to 4th!
The road was dusty which didn't help but luckily with 25yrs driving experience the car & me are still in 1 piece!
