VS ? Like a commodore? Ahhh, the nose grill, the front bar, the skirts, the rear spoiler, it made no sense until I realised your zed is morphing and probably has a 3.8 six under the lid.
yes the car has seen better days but it has also seen much worse. I am slowly (not making huge $$$ I am afraid) been working on bringing it back to some semblance of respectable. the paint work has been low on the agenda due to other factors like engine and suspension/steering. I decided I wanted it to be reliable and safe before I worried about the paint.
I think the wheels are a huge improvement. If you didn't do the bodywork and you're bring her back to a respectable state, bravo. But some of those body parts are hideous. The Z is never "done", it's just finished enough to drive
Reliable and safe before worrying about paint - good idea in my hot oven. That is my plan too - though I may give it a polish and wax to attempt to give the paint a little more life..
the front bar is mine and is half finished but only on for the moment due to needing weather proof transport in the local wet season, which is so sporadic it can not be guessed as to when or even if it will rain. the previous bar was a very bad Veilside copy that had been damaged and repaired and damaged again before I got it. beyond hope. all else is As I got the car. every panel had been keyed and the car has been well and truly abused. I got the car with the engine sitting on the crossmember and 2"'s away from the bell housing, and that was the easy stuff to deal with. Not a thing was connected to the engine or the computers in the footwell's It was a real crash course in Z's just getting the car on the road.
I rekon with some stock wheels, stock taillights, stock frontbar, stock wing and stock skirts... your car would look a million bucks.
Disregard the haters and do what you you want to it! Style and beauty is a personal thing! Some people like stock, others like radical mods. Can't please everyone so you may as well please yourself!
Ive got to be honest with you. When i read 'My wife doesnt like the black' as the title i was really hoping to see a whole other set of photos. Back on topic, i really like the front bumper you have there, ive quite often wondered why i hadnt seen one like it before lol i really must get a good look at it next time i make it off my ass and into a car cruise...to embarrassed to go in primer lol
needs a lot more work before I make the 400km trip for a cruise. its been down there before with the Veilside bar, and yes its also in primer at the moment. a redoxide one so its not so far off the factory colour when I have to do a run to work. the bar itself has cost me about $25 all up in Fibre glass and other supplies. the 2 donor bars were free so it was an experiment more than anything. And while there are aspects I would change if I did it again I am quite happy with the end design.
