You know that it's $10k plus fine for running without cats right? That's an expensive SFA kw gain...

i run without them, how many police officers get under the car, if you get EPA'd then sure you need them to pass but its not on the spot..

name someone, that your KNOW personally and told you first hand with proof who got a 10k fine.. i got EPA'd without cats, its a load of crap lol.

Get 100cpsi race cats, there was a test a while ago, adding these compared to just hi flows gave it (like the tiniest amount) more power but without cats actually dropped in power. Plus EPA wont rape you.

Gutted cats are pretty easy to spot... Well hear anyway. Any seasoned highway officer will notice the pulsating sound long before they've climbed under the car for a look.

As far as I am aware there is no specific penalty for not running Cats in WA. You will get a defect but no fine.

If anyone does know of legislation in WA regarding fines for Cats then I would like to hear about it.

Personally I would just run cats.

I think you should run no cats and give them to me,
unless there stockers then you should have them installed and feel good about doing the right thing

Cats have a lifespan once they have done their life they spit heavy metals onto our roads with all the other obnoxious crap a poorly maintained car puts out...... so 20yr old stockers are not going to do the right thing...... (This lovely gem came from the senior tradesman who I worked with until recently, needless to say he is not a fan of cats).

I personally have a single 4inch high flow unit on my exhaust.

and as far as 4 legged cats. KILL them all - I was never really bothered with the mangy bas----d's untill 2 weeks ago, my wife and I heard a crashing sound in the garage at some stupid hour of the morning, I got up checked the garage no lights on no doors ope , figured I would find out what happened in the morning. A CAT happened, knocked my radiator off the shelf onto the leg of the engine hoist putting a big dent in 3 of the cores and then proceeded to leave a dirty big calling card beside my radiator for me to -nearly- stand on when I got up and checked the garage.

    No cats is stupid

Think of your own health at least. The stuff spewed out the exhaust is bad enough, but the cats actually do a decent job in eliminating many toxins you (and others) would otherwise breathe in. (no I'm not a tree hugging hippie, just common sense)

But if getting to the 1/4mile a poofteinth quicker in less than 0.01% of your actual cars use (the other 99.99% being a daily drive to work where you can only drive as fast as the econobox in front of you), is more important than your very own health and YOUR efficiency then go for it!!

People have their priorities mixed up. We give our cars (well the nice ones like zeds) the best fuel, the best oil, regular service and checkups, meticulously washed and detailed, any problem, even small, money is not an issue to fix and would never dream of having it poisoned, but when it comes to our own bodies, some people don't care to shower much, we eat junk, we drink poison (we love our alcohol) and when we are in trouble or sick, its a 'bugger it she'll be right' attitude. Hmmmmm

I think those who are seriously enthused about the prospect of not having the cats in their daily driving car have had their IQ already damaged.....

edit: constantly writing 'no cats' I mistakingly clicked 'no cats' on the poll  So take one off the 'no cats' from me lol
