Can I be the first to say it was a very nice send off for the big guy... I'm glad I came.

I never made it to the cruise due to a lack of zed and work calling me back but he would have liked how many turned up for the funeral.

To be honest I wasn't aware his mum was still alive.. and that cut me up pretty bad at the start :(

    Moo Shocking...

Seconded. Was very hard to see :(

Very good fair well to Gargs... Gotta thank him and Adam for introducing me to all of you guys as a Z family, very lucky I was driving where I was when I was to bump into such a wonderful group of people, and I wouldn't of stayed if it wasn't for such a massive warm welcome I got from him and Adam when I rocked up.

    RIP John.

    Have to agree

Was a lovely send off for a "one of a kind". I think we did him justice with the cruise as well. John will be sadly missed always and the anual cruise will be a fitting tribute to the man that was to touch so many with his warmth and friendly ways :zlove:

It was a great send off for a great man.
As someone said today, a lot of us did not know him really well but he still touched us like we had known him all our lives.I can still see the look on his face the last time I saw him.Still filled with hopes and dreams and plenty of time for his friends despite knowing things weren't good.
Rest in peace John,You have earned it.

I'm glad we were able to send john off with a bit of zed style. The funeral was nice, hard to watch as all funerals are, but a fitting tribute to a man who will be missed.

As far as funerals go, I thought it very nice. The most obvious thing to me was that his family loved him very much and that all will miss him.

Sorry we couldn't hang around, but I had to leave for Denmark (where I am now).

Thank you to all those attended, It was a great send off and the family was very proud. There were many people that dug deep to raise some money for the family, a special thankyou to those folks too.

Black Baz, I know you were there in spirit, I passed on your condolences and donation to the family, One last "thank you" for your kind words and spirited donation. Next time I am over your way you can count on me poppin around with a carton :D

$508.85 was raised in total which was a remarkable effort, cudos to our club - You really see the fabric of AUS300ZX at times like these when the chips are down. I would have to say I am one Proud member.

John's Sister Lyn (Nora) has decided to put the money towards the memorial plaque which will be located at Bunbury if you ever wanna visit. She said it will be inscribed - "Beloved member of the Zed Club" (or something like that) I'll post a pic when it is made.

Big thanks to you all for making this event one to remember, A Very special thanks to Spikie for his endless efforts organising the cruise etc. He did a 10/10 job as usual and I know John would've been proud. Also thanks to Felix for the stickers.

On a lighter note I'd like to add that because of the wake I couldn't attend the entire cruise but the photos Ross has taken look great. Spikies car under those neon blue lights look unreal! great stuff!!!

Sorry to read of John's passing. I had no idea what so ever he was unwell.

I actually had a dream about him some months back, even though we had never met. In the dream he flew me over to WA to work on his Z's & let me stay at his place. R.I.P Gargoyle.

Sounds like the service did great justice to our good friend.

No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new.

    yeah

They say the two certainties in life are death and taxes. I say the biggest killer of the human race is birth, If you are born then it's a given that one day you will die. It's what you do with your life while you still have it that makes you so special and John was one of the special ones :zlove:
We should all take a leaf from his book and leave something good to be remembered by.
Just my late night ravings, Too many beers and too much time on my hands
