Well you've actually ID'd it yourself...

I can confirm that its not the same as a Z32/VG30DET*

Japan via Nissan is going to be your most likly source for new gaskets for the VG30DT.
Speaking with the Nissan dealer parts manager in person ought to yield some result?

Hey Dimi I am pretty sure the Cima pump has a longer snout.

That pump looks fairly fresh, unless there is a problem with it I would consider reusing it.

Did the belts line up OK when fitted ?

Had a quick look in FAST.

Nissan Cima Y31 VG30DT "Pump Assy Water":
    06/87-02/91 - 21010-F6525 / 21010-F6526 / 21010-F6526
That is the progression of part numbers in case you find NOS.
    Also used on Leopard F31/VG20DT

Nissan Cima Y32 VG30DT "Pump Assy Water":
    06/91-09/94 - 21010-0P526 / 21010-0P527 / 21010-0P528
That is the progression of part numbers in case you find NOS.

Looking at FAST these pumps have no preformed gasket.

These numbers are only used as above, not to say they are not the same as other VG engines, but FAST does not confirm that.

I can also help you with engine rebuild gasket kit part numbers, but need to know a bit more info, Japanese VIN would be ideal, if its an engine swap year and model of doner car.

This will make it easier to chase up through Japan or where ever as suggested above.

    a chassis number i've borrowed from carsales - FPAY31030775

Y31 VG30DET Nissan cima. which is the correct motor

i have no idea what my motor actually came from as it came on a pallet with lots of jap writing :(
but based on the included inlet manifolds its a cima/gloria/cedric of that era y31/y32

ive been to Nissan parts numerous times now and even supplied part numbers i found. they themselves have no idea what the fok is happening and keep telling me how the motor doesnt exist, ok the motor exists its in a z32, ok its a vg20, ok its a vg30dt i see now, yeah we can get gaskets, ill send them an email. yeah we cant find the gaskets they dont have any listing for vg30dt sorry, oh did you say z32 vg30dt. just keeps going in circles.

    http://nissan.epc-data.com/cedric_gloria/xxxxxxxx/5837-vg30dt/engine/?frame_no=FPAY31030775

even if the pump is different, as long as it bolts to the block i can make a pulley if needed, to suit whatever offset is needed.

the pump itself isnt shagged, the bearings are. the belts do line up correct. the alternator, water pump and crank all now run on one belt, ross is making a custom balancer to suit.
its looking easier to do just a bearing change on it :p

    the gaskets i need are
    intake manifold > head
    exhaust manifold > head
    all rocker cover gaskets.

main seals and sump gasket are same as z32. everything else can be done with liquid gasket no problem.

if you can help me out getting a set in/can speak jap, help would be much appreciated :D

i also found that Amayama website, and apparantly they can get a full gasket set at the end of august???

be careful, The maxima VG30 water pump and the pathfinder water pump look identical but the snout is longer or shorter depending on where its used.

WOW what a mess, very confusing, VG30E/VG30ET/VG30DT etc, images dont seem to match that well.

    Is it quad cam ?

Hey Dimi, it is so confusing because of the relationship between the Cedric and the Cima and the large amount of VG engines including the VG30DET (quad cam) and the VG30ET, and Nissan FAST using VG30T, VG30DT and VG30D#, as some sort of non standard abbreviation, which begs the question is a VG30T a dual or quad cam.

If you confirm quad or dual cam it will make my answer more accurate I think.

Above you said VG30DT, that would be quad cam.

Maybe an engine number to see if we can find a decode on it and or pictures of the engine.

I could take a good stab at it but I dont think you would appreciate that when wrong parts from Japan arrive.

Answers for a quad cam VG30DET, I mention compatibility with Z31 and Z32 because these were localy delivered and parts should be available, even if at a silly price, CZP would be worth an email.

Exhaust manifold to Head Gasket: 14036-F6510 (2 required)
This part number is the same as Z31 VG30DE
These look very much the same as Z32 but could be differnt in port size or something, someone may know.

Lower Intake to Head gasket: 14035-F6500 (2 required)
This part number is the same as Z31 VG30DE
I would insist on these as the Z32 ones are a rubber/metal thing that may space differnt if the the earlier one is a simple gasket.

Upper Intake to Lower Intake Gasket: 14032-0P501 (1 Only)
    These will be specific IMO.

Upper Intake Plenum Cover Gasket: 14033-0P500 (1 Only)
    These will be specific IMO.

Right Side Intake Rocker Cover Gasket: 13270-30P00 (1 Only)
This part is the same as Z32 VG30DE/TT

Left Side Intake Rocker Cover Gasket: 13270-30P10 (1 Only)
This part is the same as Z32 VG30DE/TT

Half Moon Intake Rocker Cover Plug: 11051-58S00 (2 required)
This part is the same as Z32 VG30DE/TT (and many others RB/CA/VG)

Exhaust Rocker Cover/Oil Pan Sealant: KP710-00150

I can confirm that main seal, front seal and oil pan/ retainer gaskets are the same as Z32.

Engine rebuild gasket kit (similar contents to Z32): 10101-71V28

It will be missing odds and ends like oil squiter gaskets etc, if you are going the full rebuild path and want me to compile the kit contents it will take a while, let me know.

Even in FAST they list part options for VG30DT and VG30DET for some stuff, bloody confusing in parts, I am sure they never produced a carby turbo VG. :p

You had better have the quad cam VG30DET ! [TIS]

    EXCELLENT NEWS!!!

went in and got a different parts boy today, he found exactly what i wanted straight away, gave him the part numbers, got an illustration of the motor so i could confirm it was the right block and water pump/gasket kit would match.

checked in japan, product in stock.

last bloke was suggesting $330 per inlet manifold gasket. but couldn't even find an illustration.

got the whole rebuild kit with all gaskets included for $485
    water pump was $260.

half the issue was the abortion of a bloke i was dealing with!
    parts should be here soon!
    CHEERS :D

    Awesome !

The difference is a part number or a VIN, it takes resposability of them, and makes it a lot easier.

Not a bad idea to get a VIN of the front cut or donner car if possible also, it can be worked out but makes it easier.
