Is there a trick to getting the rear hatch to close down tight? when its closed you can still lift it up and down a little bit, so when you go over certain bumps it'll make a "thump thump" for lack of better words ;) Ive already adjusted the catch down to its lowest point and a range of other positions but to no avail, and ive never been able to use the hatch release in the car, always have to use the key.

Common problem? so get over it?
    Or fixable?

    Cheers guys and gals :)

You need new hitch bumps stops, round rubber blocks on each corner of hatch.

The catch bit on the latch has a small amount of adjustment in it too, it CAN shift up with time, happened in my old one. Loosened off the bolts, moved it down a few mm and tightened up, hatch shut perfectly.

Whats the difference between the two lol? I've adjusted the "catch" (thats attached to the car) down, but even all the way down it still isn't holding it down tight! The "latch" part on the hatch hasn't got any adjustment i don't think?

    Cam i can help :)

Inorder to fix the issue of the hatch not lifting on its own when pulling the latch...Coz sells the upgraded shocks for hatch. The stock spoiler you got also doesnt help as they weigh a bit.

Coz (www.conceptzperformance.com) sells the upgraded shocks for the hatch. I have purchased and installed a set. I purchased the extra heavy duty shocks...do not buy these lol. They are way too strong for a hatch with no spoiler. Maybe its better for your hatch as it still has a spoiler. I would recommend getting the heavy duty shocks instead of the extra heavy duty shocks. As they are a workout to close the hatch lol. But pops open straight away as soon as i release the lever.

If you want, we can swap shocks. I would prefer the heavy duty shocks when compared to the extra heavy duty shocks. So if you want, get the heavy duty set and we can swap :)

    Hope that helps :)

lol i know man you can do lap pull downs on your hatch man, i recon i pulled a muscle lmao no need to go to the gym!

ok man, i recon your hatch will work still with the stock shocks of mine! cos they are good, they hold the hatch up but it doesnt "pop" open.....so swaps mine for yours? :p

that will solve one problem, i guess i just need new bumps too

My original shocks was able to hold up the hatch with my original spoiler as well as the gt spoiler and with the brazillian. I only replaced them as i wanted to use the lever to open it instead of always having to use the key.

Ah, if its the latch part itself, not sure.

Cam easy temporary option for now...put up with using your key to open the hatch. Get the spoiler removed and when it is at the panel shop for the respray get them to install new shocks which you can buy from Coz.

Or you could even use your original shocks as they might do the trick. The stock spoiler is quite heavy and hence why the shocks loose their strength over time.

Take the counter weight out of the hatch lid. Its like having new struts.
