Is the red "!" light on the left of my dash (usualy used for the handbrake) used for anything else?

Yesterday morning it was on, then turned off later in the trip.
This morning it was on for the entire trip.

Is it telling me something else or is it the button inside the handbrake sticking on a little bit?

    Cheers

Hey mate, sometimes that indicates that one of your rear brake lights insane working, go get two new double filament bulbs for like 4 bucks, chuck them and and see if the warning light goes away

Thanks Abz, I had a look but the level is at half way which is good! So I'm not too sure now, the owners manual says that it is also a main brake system warning light so in need to have a look around....

Not sure if he is being smart or not :p
In relations to the engine wash thread lol, changing tail lights defiantly requires an engine pull :D

Fill it up to the full level man, then check again. That's your best bet.
