Nistune group buy

Changed my mind about software, will get the tune done in a shop!

Keen to jump onto this GB, but...

I seem to have a problem. I just checked the ECU # on the car and discovered that I have a 'Central 20 Racing Team SPL Computer "Brain"' add-on there already.

I've never needed to look @ the ECU before, so had no idea this was installed - checking the google machine indicates C20RT is a Japanese ECU modding house (amongst other things) ... but reveals bugger all else. They tend to just up the fuel mix and run the cars on a heavier mix is about all I've gleaned.

I'm thinking that my best bet is to remove it and drop in a Nistune solution because [a] I'll know what the Nistune tune set up is and be able to adjust it and I have no clue how the C20RT tune is configured and no idea of how to find out.

I've got an '90 TT 2 seater auto if that's relevant in anyway....

Opinions? Thoughts? Advice?

Yeh I've got a similar setup on mine, unichip goes through the juice tho, 300ks toa tank!!

my zed is a 1989 so what type board would that be? i know i should be saving money but fuk it put me down for which ever type board my zed is please

 

Does anyone know how hard it is to remove a central 20 racing team ecu chip?
Seems mine has one.
Or does anyone want it?

All depends if it's soldered in or socketed. If socketed, just as easy to pry it out, install the nistune board and solder 4 wires.

If soldered, you'll need to unsolder the chip, solder in a socket then do above

Thanks, solderings not a problem but i wanted to know if the Central 20 team changed anything else on the stock ecu before installing their board IE resistors and such, or pot trimming.

 

Afaik they only put in a chip. So far I've found that is the case with most other chipped ecu's
