After being down in zed fest i had asked a few people about my key coming out of the barrel while driving. was funny at the time but while showing a forum member this and having a look they decided to try there titanium key in my barrel and started my car. Was rather amusing at the time but i have now worked out that i can start my car with any 1 of my 6 zx keys. Is there a way to repair the barrel or just swap and get a new key

Unv300zx, if you can turn the barrel around with anything, the tumblers have worn out. Cheap option is to simply replace the lot from a working wrecked set.
Don't be stupid his barrel hasn't been filed down. The barrel has been wrecked from a previous break in attempt where someone has smashed a screwdriver or something similar down the barrel. Cheapest fix is to just replace all the locks. Getting the ignition barrel off isn't hard, just awkward as you need to drill out the bolts holding it in place.

Your All Wrong... Becuz is racecar. The barrel is filled down for extra streamlining and less wind resistance when key is inserted. The amount of drag reduction gained from streamlining the key and barrel equates to balancing out the drag thats exerted from the airbrakes resulting in 1000kmh extra in top speed and you can go upside in tunnels -Scotty
