hi guys ,, i got a question about the fuel light .. when the fuel light comes on . does it come on hard and bright, or does it come on gradually , so a small light and as you run out of fuel , it comes on brighter ?? cheers alex
No it doesn't. It starts off dim and sometimes goes out when you turn (as fuel level at the sensor rises). Then it stays on solid as you get lower.
thank you sir . when it stays on soild ,, is it bright , say as bright as the rest of the dash? ( engintion lights ) i took out all the fuel out of the car and tested it , its working ok , but its not that bright . i am running the dials gauge set ( 5 years now ?? ) bracket and i just relocated the light to the bottom corner on the left side ,( ignition lights ) im using the original light bulb, it 4 volts , its comes on dim then lights up a little more ,( as normal ) but its not bright at all even out of the dash , starts dim, then goes up very little . so really is still dim at full volts, and looks nothing like the rest of the dash i would say its about half of the rest of the dash at full brightness. can i get another light bulb and put that in to brighten it up ?
It does go out if around a corner or on a hill, but it dims on to full strength. I don't think the dimming has to do with fuel level as much as it has to do with the light just coming on slowly.
I don't think this is a problem for you but thought i would just post it up as it might help others. DON'T use the led lights in the low fuel position as they have a habit of glowing all the time.
mines either on or off, comes on when tank is low, gos on and of as fuel splashes around for about 10 odd k's then stays on till i fill it. always comes on as a full light, light dim or anything first that ive noticed
Couple minutes at most before I run outa liquid... Then I just fill up again and I'm good to go again
does the aus spec have the fuel light. as only my j spec seems to have it and i have had 2 aus spec clusters with no fuel light
Im pretty sure they do. correct my if i'm wrong but its just the fuel pump sign on the fuel level indicator..
