Hi guys, Yes, this is yet again about one of the little bargains i have been able to find I have found a guy that makes to order LED kits for the zed...and the price is close to half of what the previous guy from UK mentioned he could sell them for so im saving over $300!!! I can send him my lights and he can install them for me or i can just buy the led kit and install myself...sending the lights over and then back is not a viable option as it costs too much for shipment... I am after somebody in VIC that can install the LED kit for me...i will pay of course. The kit is already on boards and is ready to be installed. All that basically needs to be done is open the lights (not sure how), then remove lenses and glue on the led's onto the lenses and reinstall...they obviously need to be wired in aswell...i do not know how to and dont want to do it myself, hence the thread. The kit consists of the 4 reverse lights, and both tail lights My tail lights are custom and my altia panel is custom aswell, so they need to be done properly as to not damage it or have less risk of damaging it than doing them myself. I don't know why you dont have a go at opening up yourself Abraham, difficulty rating can only be 5/10, and take you an afternoon. FYI, The 4 tiny pins on the Altia panel are no longer there but it does not need to come apart to fit the four reverse light boards, if it's anything like mine you will just need to dremel off part of the plastic on the rear once the two bulb chambers are removed. Have a go at the tails, remove the screw that goes in the reflector and warm them up in your oven, get the top away first by just pulling carefully, on the bottom just tease the back over the lugs and again they will come apart. If they don't come apart relatively easily you haven't got the black gunk warm enough!! Again FYI, the now clear indicator lense is glued to the now chromed insert which will just lift out when warm leaving just the red lense there, this when again still warm will just lever out. I can now only presume your tail led boards will go in and everything else fit back on top, wiring will come out of the bulb holder holes
Thanks for that Andy i shall have a look at them when i get my zed back next week. Martin its hard for me to do work on the zed as i do over 70hrs a week with work and studies plus travel on top of that...so dont have much free time...hence why i dont get a chance to do things myself and would rather pay somebody else that knows what they are doing, as they can get it done a lot quicker than me without damaging anything. Rom I am still in talks with my contact regarding the led kit...so once received i shall definitely take a few pics of the kits themselves and plenty after they are installed. The guy can make the kits so that the brake lights are dim when lights are on, and when brakes are pressed they go brighter. Also the indicators he normally makes in white, but ive asked him for them to be amber for legality reasons in australia. As for the reverse panel, i am waiting for some pics of end product. He doesnt have any pics of the actual led lights as he didnt remember to take any. Other than that everything looks good so far. Abraham
Is this the guy that does the kits in the us ? Have him on fb too. No point bragging about bargains and not passing the info on it kills the zed modifying market and while your being an individual, everyone else suffers higher prices As for the install il be happy to help do it, sure dean would too.
LOL...Rod he doesnt want me to pass on details till i get my kit. Once its installed and im happy with the kit, i am more than happy to pass on the information. I dont want to post details and then i get issues if it is not what they wanted... Have you done it before Rod?
