Yup ;) Used Articdragons newspaper method after bashing the lips tight. Works well :)

At normal height the rims still poke, but as I drop it the rubber just tucks under :)

is spraying the engine bay with water a smart idea considering all the electronics in there??

    final fixes after plenum pulls

Have to give back story to today's doings:

Pulled the plenum off with help from adamness about a month and a half ago (before going away) whilst zed was off the road.

I replaced all coolant hoses, fuel hoses, pcv hoses, vac hoses with blue silicone ones :D and plenum gasket, accessory belts, checked timing belt, installed ud pulley, full service (spark plugs, oils, filters, coolant, etc.) and put it all back together 2 weekends ago.... whilst bolting the plenum back on one of the bolts sheared whilst only half way in... hoped there'd be no leak!

Got permit to drive unregistered and got it to my mechanic for diagnosing assistance and road worthy last weekend but had to replace dud coil pack; then when smoke persisted do plenum pull #2 to replace the bolt as I had a smoky LHS exhaust that smelt like fuel indicating a vacuum leak. The rubber had been stripped from plenum gasket so used new/slightly used gasket + silicon when putting it back. The bolt had clearly been cracked beforehand but not all the way through, so replaced most of them, unfortunately one that snapped held my throttle cover on so 3 bolts in that now

Finally got RWC and rego on monday... but still had extremely smoky exhaust which I was told was due to fuel in the muffler slowly being burnt... and I had squeeky belts on start up.

Was pretty happy though just to drive her again for the first time in 6 months. :D

Then after going through 30L of fuel in just 40km! Tonight I got an injector plug tester and tested the injector plugs and found #6 was getting a constant strong power source instead of impulses....... and it was infact the egr plug! :(... same time I was happy to have solved my problem without plenum pull #3 taking place, so switched the 2 plugs (i did not delete my egr). Was a pain in the butt doing 2 plenum pulls BUT I can now take plenum off and on again in under 3 hours on my own. Then I further tightened my accessory belts and I now have a smoke and squeal free, problem free hopefully reliable zed!!!! [TIS]

Can't wait to drive her tomorrow :zlove:

Ever since i saw my Zed ... I was in love with her ... I even broke up with my girl to buy this car,cuz apparently she doesn't like sports car and she was against racing,I am no racer but **** that ..I chose my car against my girl.turned out i did a very good thing.Turns out girls love z's anyway, the compliments and the people who turn their head when i drive past that's all i need.
Anyhow, got it from a lady and i didn't care how much i had to spend to get it on the road,i gave the money then i was away with it. but since i bought it i have done some work on it and have spent couple of grand.
So,I want to do some more work on it rather than just drive as it is.
Guys, zed's are for men's not for boys.

If anyone knows how to fix up zeds or trouble shoot problems let me know....this has to go epic and the passion for car never ends.never...

You get what i'm sayin' ????

tried to time my 0-100 and realised that controlling slight step out and steering a 250rwkw zed whilst timing isnt smart.

tuned my low boost to 9spi like stock and 16.9 - 17psi for high.

    - inspected/measured and cleaned/sodablasted oil pump on my project engine

    - mounted my rebuilt blitz 700hp kit to the engine and went  got more turbo then engine

    - finally figured out how im going to install the nitrous kit.

Busy day for some !

DataScan has a time trial screen, best way I have found to do it reasonably accurate, and yes it is a handful with a stop watch, even in an automatic. :p

the previous owner to mine used to do this wash the car at the drive thru with the full works in the engine bay, but this is bad it ends up corroding all the connectors in the loom they go green and dont carry current real good, leads to all kinds of unrelated problems late , earths etc injectors misfiring plugs palying up
