So i dropped a bottem end bearing in my turbo 300zx z31 (too many burnouts i think):br: and i cant afford to have it rebuilt atm :(
Just found a non turbo 300zx z31 and i was wondering if anyone had done a turbo addition to a non turbo z31 if so what probems can i expect to encounter with the conversion and how much effort is required.

other question is if you were doing up a z31 different motor etc what would you put in it

VG33 should drop straight in basically, with a ZR sump I believe RB engines drop in too.

Didn't someone here turbo a VG33 a few years ago and end up with bucket loads of torque?

So you want to turbo a factory non turbo z31?

Or do you want to turbo an n/a engine and drop it in your turbo z?

If its the second one its just a matter of swapping the bolt-ons and keeping it at low boost - like 6psi would be safe.

    I'd put a vg30det....like I did in my current z31 :p

boss found a cheep 300 i know cheep 300 there brings loads of trouble ..i havnt seen the car yet ..but if its in good nick mechanicaly then ill swap my turbo parts onto the non turbo one.
and when ive got the money buy a motor and fix the first one properly.. or even project it and upgrade to a v8 or a 1j or 2j.. weld doors waterproof interiour remove boot its just an idea atm.

but the main thing im interested in is how and 300zx1 seems to have provided what i need a step by step guide
