Hi, Wondering if anyone has done an Antenna deletion. If so, what alternative antenna was used. My electric antenna has crapped itself again so I'm seriously looking at plugging the hole and fitting some sort of roof or hatch whip antenna.

the previous owner of my zed broke the normal zed antenna and fitted an electric one that runs through the roof lining and is attached at the windscreen.

As Romonski said you can do the Electrical version via the hood lining or you can also do a rear windscreen wiper delete or rear windscreen water spray nozzle delete and then hook up a small aerial like the old style mobile phone ones. But you would have too metal plate the hole where your old wiper arm used to be, if you do that. Personally i'd just wipe the spray nozzle and go that way.

    I am considering

ditching the stock and replacing it with a shark fin like newer BMWs have...

Aye when I was younger I remember me parents having one in their window (not an attachment though, just looks like lines on the window on the side, got perfect reception, best I've had in any car.

The r32 skylines had a good antenna. It was built into the front windscreen. Very good reception on mine too.

My antenna is basically not useful as its always up but the motor seems to be working. I found a replacement antenna with motor brand new that seems to look exactly like stock but its aftermarket :) i only paid $50 for it too, so hoping to get it installed on one of my days of.

It's probably broken the nylon toothed cord and just needs a replacement (about $30 at most Car Radio outlets).

BTW, your Z32 has a factory fitted Radio Antenna in the rear hatch glass(along with the rear window demister).

tassuperkart Its a lie I tell you!

    Aftermarket electric antennas are cheap.
I just bought one from Repco. Took all of 20 minutes to install.
It goes up and down..Using the stock wiring. It receives.
    Cant ask much more.

Your (original) stereo antenna wire had (has?) 2 cables. One goes to the glass antenna, the other goes to the extendable one. However, the connector seems to be JDM (even on my AusSpec). It is definitely not the normal type used nowadays.

My antenna goes up and down fine. Only problem is the reception for such a large antenna is average at best. The antenna on the rear hatch glass is there also but why is there 2 antenna's and is there a specific job for each one ?
