240k struts with z31T hubs and discs and i think z32/r32 calipers are the trend.

Can always do the 240k strut and hub, magna blank rotors drilled to suit the 240k hub stud pattern, with commodore v8 alloy calipers.

Get onto Ozdat forums, there are numerous sections relating to brakes, diffs, eng conversions and a heap of builds in the members car section.

One aussie guy who is in the usa at the moment is putting a nissan titan 5.6L (iirc) engine into a 240.

Not to knock this forum and all its knowledgeable members, but for a more streamline and proven track record of eng swaps and other jazz relating to the 240z, ozdat and the hybridz forums are the place to read. They breath datuns over there where as we breath Z32s here.

    Peruse between the both.

And in the long run, enjoy your build. If anything i totally agree with E (tassuperkart) in regards to getting all your planning down on paper. Research what needs to be done, make a plan, and stick with it. It will save your wallet and your upcoming headaches. As the potential is there to practically do anything with them these days.

Work out all the key points, then attack.

    Best of luck.

Oh, if in doubt get in contact with a guy called Baz(barry) from Datsports here at lonsdale in Adelaide. Hes a datun/nissan guru from since well ever. What this guy doesnt know or hasnt attempted will blow your mind. Ive seen in his workshop him shoehorn a vg30det engine into a 1600 4 door that has been weld up into a 2 door. The lengths hes gone to, to make it happen, to the point he has designed and built (with engineering approval) bolt on parts to make the conversion easy. Crazy stuff. But yes if in doubt give him a call and have a chat.

Yeh, while the VG has a lot going for it my ZXT would be LSx powered if it was all to be done again. NA not turbo, with less weight and a more immediate and predictable power delivery.

If I were to rebuild my 240 it would have a VQ35 in it. Like Richard said NA ftw.

P.S in regards to this thread though, people obviously have no idea what it takes to build a 240 lol..

    Lol. It's an option..
The FD is perfect the way it is anyway. The best/fastest/craziest import money can buy.

Go to Hybridz.org and look there. Lots of information on different engine swaps etc into S30 chassis. I'd love to do a 240z with an LS1 at some point, will be expensive by the time I ever get around to it (just for the car).

Haha, yeah. Love the NSX. :)
Surely the RX7 would be faster than everything else round a circuit things being equal. Rotaries are awesome and I love the chassis and suspension setup. :)

Evo's would probably be the quickest around the track out of most imports.

Not much quicker than a R35 GTR though (still count as a import? :p)

I'll ignore the rest of your rambling but the above is particularly relevant to the OP's question so for his benefit this.

You apparently have never done a S30 engine change and therefore would not have the faintest idea how/if a VG will fit and what mods may be required to do it. And what other mods would be adviseable as a result of fitting a much more powerful engine. In other words you have no idea if the change would be viable particularly considering if engineer approved structural changes are required and how much it all may cost to finish properly so some sort of resale value may be retained. Let alone if it would all be worth it in the end.

Yet you urge the OP to do the change and even indicate a dollar figure to him. Bloody irresponsible.

I stupidly have thrown out this mag so no scans but... VG30dett and range rover brakes are about all I can remember about it. Oh and it was expensive.

Thought about doing something similar with my 260 till I fell in love with the 300. :zlove:

tassuperkart Its a lie I tell you!

Richard, *deep breaths and sigh* why dont you take your uninformed and ignorant comments off to Boostloosing or somewhere similar where there are those who might actually give a crap.
You dont have the slightest idea what research I did, who i spoke to and what conversions i looked at both v6 and v8 into old Zeds in preparation to my conversion. Not to mention my participation............ Oh, Im sorry, nah, Let it pass Evan. Some "people" cant be educated.
