Do it yourself, there is a how to guide one member uploaded some time ago. Its not that hard. Just a little time consuming the first time round.

I know of one upholsterer that ive used before, seems reasonable and his work is impeccable.

    I agree, do it yourself!

It is not only a great way to familiarise yourself with the inner workings of your car but a real zen thing. I don't even have to tell you about the obvious savings! Doing an interior takes a fair few hours and will lighten your wallet substantially and something I have always been suspicious about is whether or not all the screws and bolts go back if done by a 3rd party.

With this said, I would just like to say that should you do the install yourself I am in no way accountable for what you do screw up. :D

if the leather is pre cut to shape, is the kit for a right hand zed?

Yeah, it's a big job to do the seats, and the final outcome relies heavily on the condition of the seat foam and the cut of the retrim kit. My job is comfy, but the shape is not as good as the stock leather, or a professional job. For my TT, I'll probably get it dont by a pro, or just go some nice recaros or BRIDE seats

As for doing the rest of the interior, it should be piss-easy compared to the seats- just strip the old fabric, sand off any old glue or rough it up, followed by a good contacy adhesive. Hit it with a heat gun/hairdryer first to get it to tack, then stick away

The doors are easy. Rear trim and the section around the seats (in my 2 seater) is basic - work backwards from the door sills, and use a screwdriver to carefully lever tha parts off. It's like playing LEGO- do one piece at a time.

Even though I'll see you in a few days Simmo, I'm dying to know how much it set you back for the seats, and how did the finish come up? Were they wrinkle/sag free? Repacked and/or reshaped?

Of all the interior bits they were the one thing I baulked at and still havn't done. You're obviously recommending them for the chore....

the Trim all comes off very easy shadow, don't be too scared, just take your time and you will get through it no problems, just start some where.

If you get stuck, just ask some one on here, plenty of people have done it, and will know whats happening

Looking forward to see the results as I'm going to tackle this soon as well.

Just out of interest with the kit you got, does it include foam backing on the vinyl? Are you supposed to have a thin foam backing?

I'm assuming from each individual piece of trim? Easy as! Just flip it over, grab a bit and peel it off. Much like removing a sticker from it's backing, only using a lot more exertion. It comes off relatively easy and in one piece.

Its the putting on of the new stuff where the fun starts.
