    So
I have just completed an install of a set of Black leather seats.
But up for sale...at cost @ $1300.00 so if you are thinking of doing it .. its all done here. Plug and Play. Pickup Sunny Coast QLD.
you can see pics below and Vid taken from the Phone
All Black, Black stitching, driver electrics. (you'll need to use your existing rail and elect controls).
I bought another set of seats to have the leather job done.
    Seat recovered professionally.
I'm thinking of going back to Tweed (and getting my drivers seat recovered by the blokes who fitted the leather (they did a good job) as you can see.
If you click on the avi its 18 meg (not dialup friendly) wot TFs dialup??anyway.(save and Play for those interested)
    Breakdown of cost
$250 fronts retrim (pennyarvs) TY Arvin
$150 rears retrim (pennyarvs) TY Arvin
$10 Rear seat (Reyoh) TY Mark (+ drive to brissie)
$100 Front seats (Zed74) TY Richard (+ drive to brissie)
$$770.00 Upholsterer had to strip, re-foam, but had to unstitch and restitch to get it all right in a number of spots .. They look great, smell great, feel good etc
BUT IMHO Leather doesn't seem as good as the tweed original (If I can't sell them no probs they'll stay) but if someone want to save the hassle then this could be the perfect opportunity.

looks good man but 1300 is pretty steep for leather seats

I need new seats, however my my seats aren't electric and I also think 1.3k is too steep...

Anyway, how easy is it to get the wiring done for an electric seat?

When you unbolt the seats its easy to take off the rails and the electric seat controller is easy to remove just unscrew two PH screws and unclip the wires that go into the seat .. easy as.

If you position the seat (electric) correctly so the Bolts for the rails are in the right spot its easy to unbolt the rails with a ratchet socket. Took 30 mins for both seats out.

$1,300.00 is about what most will end up paying, all up, when you have them professionally fitted .. even with the GB seat covers .. if you do it yourself your possibly not going to get the result you would expect.

These are not easy seats to recover ask anyone who has done the job.

You could save a bit by having your Own seats done but that would mean not using the car .. plus you can sell your own once the jobs done. (but not in my case).
    Any-way - either way I'm happy.

Which trimmer specifically did the recovering ?
Presume this wasn't just some covers being fitted ie did this trimmer custom fit his own supplied leather from scratch ?

I think from the first post they were a kit cover that a retrimer just installed and modded, not made from scratch...

I've retrimed seats its not the hardest thing in the world..

    GL with the sale

front and back retrims were bought for $400.00 and the upholsterer did the rest as explained in the initial breakdown of cost.

According to the Upholsterer the retrim kit had a few issues where the backs didn't line up .. He mentioned this often happens with patterns being mis-alligned in the factory so he had to un-stitch and then re-do to make it fit better. He reckons Its the luck of the draw with these kind of re-trim kits some are perfect and some miss the mark a bit and require mods.
Anyway that's drum... His name is Alby in Noosa and he's got a good reputation and a number of friends recommended his work. I'm happy with the work he has done.

Maybe the GB leather Kits are a little better and may be easier to fit correctly straight up without mod's (by a novice).. But when I saw what was required by (Forum member Mitch) as a process, I decided against a DYI .. great work by Mitch and great post, but looked like too much of a crap fight for me .. I would have had Glue from Ace hole to Breaktable and probably more on the outside of the cover than inside.. (but I can build a house n stuff - no prob's).

......... so 'all hail' to the DIY retrimmers !
