Hi, My car seems to be noisy through all gears while driving. if i coast in neutral and rev the motor its still quiet as. But as soon im back into gear its whining and sounds noisy around the gearbox and ass end. I have stock everything and nothing has been changed or swapped for aftermarked, just regular services

i have changed the diff oil - was quite clean anyway.
Should i change gear oil? i dont want to spend the cash and undo a stripped out fill plug if its not going to help.

I dont hoon in my Z'd its well looked after and only done 120k

I was wondering if this could be the gearbox....

    AndyMac Better than you

Check the rubber seal that sits under the shifter, cancels out alot of gearbox noise. Following that check the gearbox mount, and the diff cradle bushings.

I have the same problem. Does it do it in 4th gear? mine whines in every gear except 4th, ive been told its a bearing but havnt yet gotten it done, i changed the gearbox oil and also put nulon g70 in but didnt make any difference to the noise just smoother gear changes. Havnt had any problems with gearbox just sounds like they are straight cut haha

yeah mate, 4th seems to be much quieter, and i have found that the input shaft bearing seems slightly shot....im guessing that could be the issue causing the noise?.

    Rubbers all seem fine

Fark!!! i dont feel like pulling out the gearbox lol
