Hey all, since last thursday till today I have had a fun week with the zed.

Thursday 21/07 - Automatic trans service , fitting of new large transcooler in the nose panel and played with different resistors to shorten up the shift time between gears. Since having the above done the car is much nicer to drive , the trans is super smooth compared to before and shifts alot quicker as previously discussed. Cost , $400

Sat 23/07 - Down to Gold coast, stopped in to see A-BRIS-Z and picked up these babies and fitted same day, car felt like it had more through the midrange at 14 psi

Sun 24/07 - Still in Gold coast, spent the day driving up and down the highway getting tuned by Toshi for 14psi low and 17 psi high boost on the profec, had a little mishap with one of the heater hoses letting go but fixed it.

Result - a smile from ear to ear. Toshi retimed the CAS and set up a map from scratch , car is heaps more responsive off boost and on boost.. also more torque everywhere, its not as peaky as before but it easier to drive through bends etc as the power delivery is alot flatter and more consistent. The Profec EBC has gain set to bring boost on very quickly and hold to redline. We did most of the driving (TT auto) in hold and set up through gears. All in all the car off boost feels alot lighter it is that much more responsive. And on boost, well.. Toshi was saying it felt like 210 - 220 rwkw. All I know is it has torque everywhere now lol :br: Cant wait for the strip - totally recommend a Toshi tune :D

Today Thursday 27/07 - Had a balance pipe fitted to my exhaust - $100 . The smoking is gone, I mean it, GONE . Plus it might be just me but the car feels more responsive off idle, and I actually prefer the slightly quieter exhaust note. Absolutely stoked that the embarrassing random smoke problem is gone

Tomorrow 28/07 - fitting a catch can in the nose (autobarn) and bypassing the PCV valves as per Bennys thread I commented on yesterday.

All in all. Loving the zed :zlove: next to come is the LEDS from Rob!

Brilliant results!! Gotta be happy with that hey. I bet you feel like your car has a whole new lease on life now!! Boost = Win! :D
...and thanks for the write-up and pics. :)

I appreciate the effort others on the forum go to when they write reviews etc, all the info I have learned has been from aus300zx so I am more then happy to confirm when all the advice works !

Just got to put some cash aside for the Jap classic day Sept 25th, I want to do some eighth mile work :D

Also going to start going to the test n tunes at ipswich in the next few months, would love a low 13 or high 12 after much practice - zed still lights up the tires coming on boost at 17psi so will need to lower pressures at the drags :)

Good work on the auto resistor tip, works well !
What settings(set gain & gain)do you have your Profec EBC set on out of interest?

    Hi mate

The gain dial is upto about 2/3 now giving initial 15psi low and 18 psi high

Low boost dial at about 80% giving 14 psi and high boost dial 90% giving 17psi

Has smaller turbos being an auto and power curve is essentially flat from 4000rpm to 7000

Afrs around 11.5-12.0 so it is a safe tune.

After cruising around today it is a strong street car and goes hard nearly instantly (if manually shifting then it is power on tap as you need)

Going to solder up a two way switch for the auto giving a firm shift for normal driving and then a hard shift for drags. :br:

I love tinkering on the zed :zlove:

    Cheers mate,
I meant what actual gain and set gain settings do you have with the high boost?

The switch sounds a good idea, saving getting in the wheel arch every time:D
