Now I know how you guys enjoyed the "2 idiots" saga but things have changed.
First of all enigma, my learned friend and "idiot one", has been working his ass off to get his zed on the road so he's been laying low. He's soon back with us and I'm sure we'll find something to "fix".
But in the meantime I am fortunate enough to have teamed up with the guru, ezzupturbo.
I was at his place earlier and in jest asked him when's he going to pick up the NA motor. Remember, it's still in the car. That was about2pm.
"May as well do it this arvo" was his reply.
Now who's calling who's bluff here? It takes an hour to get here for a start.
So I make my way home in a much more powerful zed, he fixed 5 boost leaks too and await his arrival.
Turn my comp on and there's a PM, " I'm on my way" That's well past 3pm!
By 5.15pm I'm thinking the lads come to his sences and called it off.
No no no, here he comes to pull a motor out. I can't be too hard on him as we did have 20 minutes of daylight left.
Remember my mechanical team usually consists of idiots, there's a guru on the war path and I knew I'd be in for a shock.
I find a great light and we set up shop.

    The source of this frenzy.

He may be a zed guru but no special treatment is given. If it's good enough for the idiots, then it's good enough for the ace! The tarps are new in my defence.

Geezzz, it gets dark here quick. But we're ready for it.

Ten minutes later there's bits flying off everywhere.

There's a weeks work here for me. Takes that long for me to collect so many bits. Please note the coffee cups.

He then dives under the car and starts pulling stuff of everywhere.
The mans in a zed frenzy.
I would like to point out at this stage that I did hand him a screw driver.
    TWICE.

Before I knew it, we were fishing this lot out.

Another dive under the car and in 10 minutes guru state "she's ready to come out"
Now I don't own a watch so I track down the time and in about 2 hours, job's done.
So I'm sitting here thinking "shit Adam, where do we go wrong"?
So tomorrow sometime he's taking it out and I now have a hole where my u-beaut motor can go.
I don't impress easy but Chris has no end.

You are absolutely right John, when it comes to working on zeds there is no shitting around with Chris, just keep out of the way and get ready to catch the bits.
you also know that when the new one goes back in it will be spot on too.
I used to be alright on cars years ago but i couldnt even get within a million miles of him now.

    up-date

Got a PM and the guru is on the way soon. I think his side kick, chilledpain, is in for it too.
Felix and enigma are coming over as well so it looks like a mini tech day.

Chris is going to build my motor back up for me and take care of the head upgrades, manual conversion and installation. It's so good to have someone you know and can trust on your side.
We're a good team, he tells me what the good oil is, I go get it, he throws it on. We're after 650hp on this project, anyone think we won't get it?:D

I found a clock so I'll time these two on the removal. Apply a bit of pressure.

Worth time it. I did when he put back gearbox after installing new clutch. It took him 4 mins with bare hand. No jack or 2nd person's help. I was bit speechless. It took me 90 mins when I did with two trolley jack.

LOL amazing how people slow down as they get older. My speed of light when I was 30 has slowed to "I will get round to it soon".

Coincides with shoulders, arms and backs starting to screw up and hurt.

Golf, Grrrr, I'm doing my shirt in the British open. I'll catch up with you tomorrow felix.

So the guru of zeds lobs and not even the offer of a coffee stops him. He dives under the car with gusto. Leave him alone for a few minutes and he's at this stage. How did he get so far without my help? Feeling a bit redundant on this job.I feel like I'm getting in the way.

You can tell now I've hit the work scene.

How'd he get this far without me?

And before I knew it, extraction done.

Proof that he didn't do it all on his own. Just as well I'm in peak form.

This guy doesn't even stop for a piss! He mounted my motor too. No, not the way your thinking. That's my job.

And before I knew it, he was off like a bad smell.

This is how things should get done. Fast and very efficient.
I really look forward to our "little" project and it's such a pleasure, not a pain, to get things done.
See, not everything is hard on a zed. Not even ripping out motors in a few hours by yourself.

I can also attest to Chris's speed. He disappears under a car and a minute or two later everything is done. Magic!

Can you imagine how quick he would be if we drugged him up with red bull? ;)
