Hi all, im vodkashots (Ian), im 32 and now on my 5th 300zx, im a member of the moderation team on 300zx.co.uk, and thought id come say hello too you all. My Zedding days started out with a Silver N/A, followed shortly by my first ever problem with one, it snapped a con rod after just 86 miles, so one new engine later, it was back on the road. After owning it for about 5 months, i swapped it for a TT with turbo issues. but i ended up splitting it for parts and bought a cherry red TT that just needed body work doing too it. After owning that one for around a year, it was time to change again, so ended up doing a deal with a friend, for 2 Twinturbo LWB's, a rosso red one that ended up being split for parts and my current blue 300zx. Thought id share a few photos of the old girl for you. Shes a 1991 300zx twin turbo, currently undergoing a gearbox and engine change. she has a few mods, but will put a list up if anyone is interested.
Its been resprayed. On the colour, that's kind of a hard question to answer, its not a factory colour, well not 300zx one anyway. I had it parked next to a friend who has had his sprayed Nissan Bayside blue (TV2 paint code), mine is supposed to be Subaru 2008 WRC blue (paint code 02C) But they looked the same colour, so either his has been sprayed WRC blue, or mines been sprayed Bayside blue, or the colour is the same and both companies have named them differently lol Its in need of a wheel refurb as well.
I wouldn't recommend it though, not unless you don't mind taking both wings and bar off together when you need to get to something behind it. But thank you for the nice comments.
looking pretty young for a 32 yr old bloke as i can see in one of the pic, taking daddy's car for a ride. Nice ride man
G'day from Australia Ian, thanks for the intro and welcome aboard buddy! Sounds like you well and truely have the Zed bug like most of us on this forum aswell. (great to see :zlove Also you have a beautiful Zed! I love the Wings West kits. Congradulations on a beautifully modified car mate. ...btw, i particularly like the colour Cheers, Benny.
yep, i have a soft spot for bayside blue / WRC blue (what ever colour it is) 300zx's Next year there is going to be a few changes, Abflug type 4 front bar, i have a 99spec spoiler to go on, but im leaving it black, as im blacking out the roof bars, and toying with the idea of putting a VIS racing AMS carbon hood on. I've seen the style i want, but only available in the US at the moment. this is similar to the look im thinking about, hood is the same style.
I cant take credit for its looks, as I got it like that. Ive had to do a lot or rewiring, as who ever had it before me, did some butchering of the electrics. the boot build was a little bit to be desired. The wing mirrors didn't work, there was no power to the electric passenger seat. Wires were installed that ran from no where, to no where lol when I first got the car, this is what the boot area looked like the other day i set about sorting out the boot area. wasn't happy that it had been left like that. but after emptying the boot, and rewiring the lot. i ended up with this. Ive extended the power on switch for my inverter / amps and carputer into the cabin area. Before it was a nightmare, having to get out of the car to turn the power inverter on first, then the amps and then the PC, and if you turned the ignition off and back on, you would have to get out of the car and do it all over again, now its a bit more laid back, you can stay in the cabin and turn everything on and off. My power inverter's on switch is located in the center arm rest, the PC and AMP remote on switch is located in the cabin near the gear selector.
hand built, i can whoop it out and get you a template, only thing is id have to do the template on paper, fold it up put it in a airmail bag, and get it shipped to you from the UK. You have to cut the boot carpet to get it in though. sounds awesome, going to be doing one for the other side when i sort out a proper boot build, i want to get rid of the under floor boarding that usually bends, remove the spare wheel as im using run flat tyres, relocate the amps again and put a matching speaker the other side. thanks for the hello's and warm welcomes. god i love the 300zx community, doesnt seem to matter what side of the globe you are, its always a warm welcome
well when u have the same addiction as everyone else, how can u not appreciate other members around the world
Added some ultra rare optional extras to the car this week, rear quarter window illuminated blinds (well, rare in the UK). waiting on some inverters to show up so i can get them lit up Sorry for picture quality, was using the iphone to take pictures.
