    Hi All,

I currently have a z32 convertible auto in Melbourne which I would like to convert to a TT, I have read all the information about this including a video of the conversion.
So I have a vague idea of how difficult the process is.

Anyway, if I were to provide the donor car - can anyone on the forum offer a fixed price for the swap? Obviously there would be an extra charge for 100k service/plenum bypass etc if required.

    Thanks
    Kadir

Some of us don't have sheds or garages anymore in this modern age of apartments. :D

BTW I always find Dontex very helpful, honest and upfront about cost, so I would recommend them.

what price are you looking at for this 'fixed price'?? - I'm in the same boat with nowhere I can put my car for six months while a tt swap goes through..

    mr zed x chassis scrubbin..

so did i till they butchered my zed. I trust nobodyyyyy.

Dave it depends on what you do for a price?
buy engine, rebuild if needed, 100k recommended, bolt ons, niggly shit parts (ic piping etc), clutch / flywheel and so on. it gets fair expensive.

I brought my engine for 2k, spent around 6k on it so far and it's nowhere near in yet!!
740 nismos, 300 degree fuel rail with an fittings, hi flow manual turbs, hks boost cont, 100k kit, gates t-belt, oil cooler, bosch fuel pump, button clutch, f1 flywheel and that's just the start.

if u had my time over and wasn't attached to my chassis I'd just buy a TT, only do it again if I had a convertible haha.

Yeah, I can't bring myself to ditch my chassis.... That's the only reason I'd consider a TT swap... that, and the NA diff :p

Personally I love the idea that the car is "factory spec" despite the fact that Nissan never made a TT convertible.

fixed price is a bit of a minomer.

    1) You can NEVER garantee you have all the bits for the swap unless you supply a complete half cut. A box of parts and a "I am sure its all there" isnt good enough.

    2) who is to say what condition your swap in engine is in? did you factor in a 100K kit and replacing ALL the hoses etc etc.

I am sure a fixed price is possible. BUT the price will factor in all possible screwups. Doubt that would be cheap.

I bought a whole car and still didn't have a TT condensor or Ac pipes, does have a plazmaman fmic.... and now I decided to rebuild the engine anyway.

True Graham, you're right. I know it isn't going to be cheap, but I justified the expense by the cheap initial cost of the convertible. I also feel its worth it for what is ultimately a rare version of a Z32.

I'm providing a whole car. I'll get a compression/leak down test, and I'm going to pay the extra for a 100K service regardless. I've also been stock pilling parts like the S2 PTU, new injector connectors etc
